This album was kind of a rebirth fo Cannibal Corpse. They had just gotten rid of their former vocalist Chris Barnes and they were starting to have a newer sound. This is the first album to feature George"Corpsegrinder"Fisher on vocals. Vile is not only the first album to feature "Corpsegrinder", but also their best , in my opinion. With every song being a classic in my opinion, I will try to describe each song differently, and why each song is a classic. NOTE: This music is not for everybody, so do not critisize this review based on the music.

1. Devoured By Vermin- 5/5
This song is one of the most popular songs by Cannibal Corpse. It starts off with a scream from "Corpsegrinder that lasts for what seems like forever. Great Chorus to this song, it will stick in your head. This is a great example of their new sound. (At the time). This track is a great start to this album.
2. Mummified in Barbed Wire - 4/5
It starts off with fastest lyrics I have ever heard. He sings about an entire paragraph in about 5 seconds. It is certaintly not the best on the album, but pretty good. Another great chorus to this song. This is a great song because it doesn't drag on at all, it starts off just as fast as it ends. Nice solos to.
3. Perverse Suffering - 4.5/5
One of the longest songs of the album clocking in at 4:14. This might be the most popular song off this album to corpse fans. I can completely understand why, but it is not my personal favorite. This song has a great bridge. It is even better than the chorus, which is kind of odd. Great song otherwise.
4. Disfigured - 5/5
This might be my all-time favorite song from the "Corpsegrinder" era. Everything about this song is great. The best intro to any song on this album. This is the song that really got me into them. It is a song about someone that just hates himself and finds odd ways to self-mutilation. GREAT SONG.
5. Bloodlands - 3.5/5
This is the second longest song on the album clocking on at 4:20. It starts off with a great intro, probably one of the slowest of any corpse song. The only problem I have with this song is that it kind of drags on a little bit. Still a great song even though it is the slowest song that I have heard from them. It's kind of a good change from them. They should try slowing some of their songs down in the future because it just gives songs a very dark atmosphere.
6. Puncture Wound Massacre - 4/5
Stab, hack, slash, kill is repeated over and over again in the intro to this song. Pretty good intro if I do say so myself. The shortest song on this album by far, it clocks in at 1:41. The good thing about short songs is that it just gets to the point and does not drag on. That is exactly what this song is, a great short song that gets to the point.
7. Relenless Beating - 3.5/5
There is not much to say about this song. This is the only instrumental song on the album. In fact it is the first instrumental they had ever done (at the time). Pretty shiort song at 2:14. Good instrumental, but From Skin to Liquid off of Gallery of Suicide is better. Still this song is worth a listen.
8. Absolute Hatred - 4/5
This song is very similar to Bloodlands, because it isn't the fastest and still is awesome. The vocal patterns to this song are pretty much like evey other song on the album, so that is why I will only give it a 4/5. Still a great song that is worth a listen or two because of the intensity the song brings.
9. Eaten From Inside - 4/5
This has probably the coolest intro little solo that I have heard from them. It just sounds so cool. Again the same type of vocal patterns, but with some little differences that make this song stand out. As the title reads this song is another song not for the weak at heart. Greta song and one of the albums classics.
10. Orgasm Through Torture - 5/5
Probably the sickest song on the album. Great chorus and a very differnt vocal pattern that sets this song apart from the others. One of the best songs the band has ever put out. Take my word for it. You will not be dissapointed. Great song structure also. Love that bridge, it just leaves the song on a great outro to complete the song.
11. Monolith - 5/5
What can I say about this song? The second best song on the album. It is the longest song on the album at 4:24. The best chorus of any song on the album. Very different type of song especially for them. It still keeps that rage that every Corpse song has, but very easy to remember and is a great exit to a great album. This is a terrific closer that tops any closer on any of the other albums.
Conc. So that is it, my first review. This album was just a great begining to a great career of "Corpsegrinder" that is still going on to this day. It is amazing that this is his first with the band, because it is so good. Love them or Hate them you have got to give them props for making their first album with a new vocalist their best. That is very rare. (Except for Back in Black). All in all, a great album.
And for all of those haters of them out there, give this album a listen it might change your mind on the whole Death Metal Genre.
