Rikardur
08.10.12 | List is albums on frequent rotation as of recently. |
Funeralopolis
08.10.12 | so your summer is just like everyone else's then |
Rikardur
08.10.12 | I have friends who are "living it up", going places, seeing people. But then again, they aren't making money OR they have less hours than I. |
jdennis31
08.10.12 | yea... that's called life. once you're done with school, it'll pretty much be this for the rest of your life. unless you have entrepreneurial ambitions. |
Funeralopolis
08.10.12 | Yea living it up takes money, and as it is now I can barley afford groceries. Still super stoked for the coming year though, getting my first apartment. |
Rikardur
08.10.12 | FourthReich: I'm more excited for the people I could potentially meet, relationships I could build,
and the change of environment itself (Guelph >>>> where I live). |
IndianaWarLord
08.10.12 | sounds like you got a sweet gig going. stop ya bitchin'. i'm in the same boat and am happy for job security and having every weekend off. yeah college kicked ass, but its over. |
MO
08.10.12 | that's not that bad really, work and a band is pretty time consuming as it is |
Rikardur
08.10.12 | I'm totally up for the trade-off. I've been terribly unhappy this summer regarding relationship issues
(not with a current gf but with someone I fell for), an ex getting back in contact to be the bitch
that she is/was, and subsequently jealous of other people so I have been overlooking the good shit I
got but I have the nagging urge for a change of environment (and school, campus and around town, was a
wonderful place). Spilling my heart out briefly/vaguely so I don't appear as some bratty dude
complaining about making money and having security. |
jdennis31
08.10.12 | you know what sucks? when you have more than enough money to go anywhere in the world and do almost anything you want, but not have the time away from work to do it. gah life sucks. |
Dimor
08.10.12 | Ive been a bit of in the same boat this summer i guess, didn't get my summerjob i was supposed to get so ive been a bit restless all summer. It was worst in the beginning but i kinda turned it around and started working on some music and stuff, atleast being slightly productive. As long as you have good friends, good music, some excercising, a job to pay the bills and some optimism, things will work out great. |
johnnyblaze
08.10.12 | oh man, Guelph - there's your problem. isn't that place a retirement town? |
jdennis31
08.10.12 | nuh, i've witnessed it. i didn't take a mind altering substance til i was like 18. and i'm a network admin, not as sexy as pimp |
Rikardur
08.10.12 | johnnyblaze: Actually, that's where I'd prefer to be, rather than stay in Brampton/Mississauga. The
university is a great place (a good reason I picked it was because of the environment). Either there
or Toronto were my choices but it's too expensive to live in the city or commute everyday. Also, you
ever go downtown in Guelph? Gorgeous girls in a higher ratio, and the place is alive at night (mostly
because of the university). I'm an introverted soul but it's no retirement town. |
johnnyblaze
08.10.12 | ew - brampistan is even worse. ya, during the school year i could see guelph being okay. where i'm from (collingwood) fucking everyone goes to u of guelph |
jdennis31
08.10.12 | i'm confused right now |
Rikardur
08.10.12 | Network admins get all the bitches.
And yeah johnnyblaze, Bramladesh is severely lacking in culture. I leave the place as often as I can (which isn't very often considering my schedule, haha). |
IndianaWarLord
08.10.12 | "you know what sucks? when you have more than enough money to go anywhere in the world and do almost anything you want, but not have the time away from work to do it. gah life sucks." #humblebrag |
johnnyblaze
08.10.12 | i hear ya. i work for a software company and network admins definitely do not get all the bitches. |
jdennis31
08.10.12 | oh. i was like, did i come off as a douche somewhere? gotcha indi |
Rikardur
08.10.12 | I was being sarcastic about that comment, johnny ma' boy. |
johnnyblaze
08.10.12 | haha i kinda figured as much.
i second IndiWarlord's comment. fucking 4 weeks vacation a year is balls. at least my job is very tolerable. |
DocSportello
08.10.12 | When it's hot I wish it were cold and when it's cold I wish it were hot |
Rikardur
08.10.12 | Dr. Smith #4, that's a true sentiment. Although, I don't think I'll be missing this summer once it ends until probably when exam period arrives, but that is normal. |
Weesnaw
08.10.12 | That sucks man, sorry to hear about that. I've been working as an IT intern from 9-6 3 days a week for my summer. Today's my last day since I move in at school next week, but all my coworkers are cool, and I've learned a ton so I'll actually miss it somewhat |
Rikardur
08.10.12 | "It basically sounds like you're bitching that you have to work. Have fun in the real world, kid." Um, read what I wrote somewhere down in the comments. I actually appreciate the job and the money I make. |
Spec
08.10.12 | I work five days a week and when I'm not working im with friends having a fire or something. Just go outside. |
Graveyard
08.10.12 | Welcome to life, Rikardur |
JackSparrow
08.10.12 | "Fuck Living With Sadness" |
Rikardur
08.10.12 | Yo guys, I've had summers like this before, just not with the bouts of bullshit and unfortunate
happenings that make me hate it. Probably should have included that in the description. And fuck
living with it indeed, JackSparrow. |
Rikardur
08.10.12 | @Xenophanes: Mono? A good friend of mine had that an missed exams because of it (but of course, made it up later in the next semester). It ain't fun, from what I saw. |
JackSparrow
08.10.12 | That's a song by Departures, pretty true. My summer has sucked too, had a falling out with my girl best friend. Don't ever be best friends with a girl |
ffs
08.10.12 | all seasons suck in my experience |
Rikardur
08.10.12 | I actually have only a few girls that I consider good friends. Most of the time, I end up falling for them if they have an ounce of something I like about them, then I either end up throwing away the friendship or holding that shit in and feeling bad about it. That's what I get. |
Rikardur
08.10.12 | Winter is kvlt, tho. |
jdennis31
08.10.12 | anyone else get super nostalgic in the winter? kinda depressing |
johnnyblaze
08.10.12 | gotta embrace winter bro. hockey, skiing, fuckin staying inside guilt-free. love that shit. |
Spec
08.10.12 | johnnyblaze hit it dead on |
jdennis31
08.10.12 | bah, i looked for a hockey league but no ice leagues in san antonio. guilt-free slothing ftw though. |
Spec
08.10.12 | Just find yourself a community rink, lace up some skates and join in! All my old equipment is too small and I cant afford new stuff to play in a league (they require full equipment). |
jdennis31
08.10.12 | ahhh good idea, never even thought about pick up play type deals |
ILJ
08.10.12 | Yeah once high school ends, summers start getting progressively less awesome. |
Rikardur
08.10.12 | Winter is my favourite season. I just love the mood and shit. Also the cold > the heat here in Canada. This summer has had too many 40+ degree Celsius days...fuck that. |
Rikardur
08.10.12 | But I love dat fall/spring too because balance. |
MeatSalad
08.10.12 | Spring is the best here, the weather is perfect but it's too short. |
AGuyIsWatchingYou
08.10.12 | I just want it to be winter again ;_; |
Weesnaw
08.10.12 | winter kicks ass dude. i live in fucking texas so it's been over 100 degrees every day. can't wait until it cools off |
DocSportello
08.11.12 | I can't get people who love winter, esp. the ones who get a certain kick out of going on night hikes in short pants and t-shirts. For me, Fall (August-December) carries the most appeal and balance. Temperate. Allergies in equilibrium. The big holidays. Also seems to be the emotional swell before winter depression. |
