And yet many people don't look them up, and just use them incorrectly instead. it feeds into the theory that advancement in technology decreases advancement in human ability etc.

No, words have established meanings that people use to express their own feelings. There is a huge difference. People do not decide personally what words mean; they use what words mean to express what they decide.

People can tell what others mean, and can tell when someone uses a word incorrectly. an "epic" is a long poem about a hero's journey, and I think people use epic that way becuase many epics often have a a grandiose feel. IT MAKES SENSE loosely, but it still is incorrect if used incorrectly.

I don't what made you think that, becuase the real definition is probably worded in a much more intelligent way then what i said.
