But this site has lacked integrity for so long that unless there were a series of sweeping declarations, to reinstate some of the initial values that existed during sputnik's better years, and to change some of the commonly agreed upon flaws, it is unlikely that this site will ever be more than a joke. With that said, there are still some pretty damn good reviews that exist here but you really have to go digging for them.

Kubrick 12.07.12	@Highrise Thanks for making this post! I say that not necessarily because I agree with you, but because I can definitely relate to how you feel. I've been coming to this site for about 6-7 years now and it has definitely changed a lot in that amount of time. Trolling is obviously a pretty big problem now and it just seems like in general people are a lot less friendly/constructive than they used to be. You used to be able to write a review and get really good feedback/have great discussions with people. Nowadays you're lucky if you get one or two constructive comments. It's unfortunate, yeah, but at the same time I think it's something you just have to accept. You say that all of the toll negs are "bringing the site down," but sputnik has never been a site that's been focused on growth or reputation (as far as I'm aware). It's purely a community site with the sole purpose of providing a forum for discussing and reviewing music. So, it isn't really possible to "hurt" the site because it is whatever the users decide to make it. Right now, the users are obviously deciding to make it something that you or I aren't necessarily thrilled with, but at the end of the day there's nothing inherently "wrong" with that and it's not something that can be changed without changing the entire format of the site. So yeah I guess all I'm trying to say is that as much as I can identify with how you feel and wish things would change, at the end of the day this is a community site that will, for better or worse, always be shaped by the community. The only thing you can do is be one of the users who contributes rather than detracts. (sorry this was so long btw, you just kinda struck a chord with me so I felt like typing haha :D)
