12.27.12 | I think my next amp will be a Deluxe Reverb. Heard great things about it, not to mention it sounds great and takes pedals well. | SuicideByStar
12.27.12 | I've heard nothing but great things about it, man. | eternium
12.27.12 | Post-rock needs to get away from relying on twenty pedals and epic sounds. I can get a decent sound just using my RV-3 (though I'd like another delay eventually and maybe a volume pedal).
I'm just ranting because I saw a post-rock band with three guitarists, all using too many pedals, that was generic as hell. | SuicideByStar
12.27.12 | Can't disagree with you. The reason I got the looper is so I can try a ton of different stuff in my own free time and try to branch out styles and whatnot a little more. Granted, I just really enjoy playing the generic epic/ambient sounds, even if it's nothing new. | SuicideByStar
12.27.12 | p.s no matter what I do, I can't get the random fucking "r"s out from my description.

12.27.12 | Sweet Loopers are cool | Sevhead
12.27.12 | Loopers are awesome, it makes my bassist add variance to his playing when we jam. | eternium
12.27.12 | I want a looper too for the same reason. I make drone-ish music with my friend sometimes and he relies on his looper. | SuicideByStar
12.27.12 | I was looking at the Digitech Jamman Stereo at first, but it seemed a bit excessive for a first time looper, and was 70
bucks more
than the boss. The main drawback on the boss is that it has a small lag when you switch to a saved phrase/loop, but I was
planning to use it in more of layering multiple parts at once type of dynamic rather than switching between song parts
and
what not, so I dont intend to ever really switch between loops in a live setting, if that makes sense aha. Jamman also
draws
like, insane power, and I already use the spare plug socket in the back of my pedalpower for my Strymon. | wacknizzle
12.27.12 | Holy shit dude, you have like the perfect setup for that kind of sound. The Fender 65 reverb has the best fucking clean tone I've ever heard, and they go great with Telecasters which is definitely one of my favorite guitars, especially an American one ;)
You need a delay pedal though, they're essential to every guitar player imo. I'd either go with a Malekko 616E or a MXR Carbon Copy, analog delays are the best. | SuicideByStar
12.27.12 | Thanks man. The Timeline is a delay pedal, granted it is digital, but it sounds great and a love it. Does tons of stuff, ridiculously expensive though. I have considered buying another delay though, just for the standard tap tempo/normal dotted delay, whilst using the timeline for the more experimental and textural stuff like reverse delay/lo fi delay/dbucket and dtape/stuff like that, as well as being able to mess with multiple delays at once. Not sure though. | KjSwantko
12.27.12 | You got some sweet gear. Get some vids up of you playin'! | SuicideByStar
12.27.12 | Would really like to. Unfortunately, my amp/most of my pedals are at my college dorm right now and I'm on break(dumb decision). I bought the tele off craigslist with christmas money/money from selling an old ESP, as well as the tuner and looper, so it'll be a while before I can actually hook the new guitar up haha. | wacknizzle
12.27.12 | Oh that's cool man I didn't know the Timeline was a delay pedal, sounds like it's pretty good. I have a Boss dd-20, it's really good for standard delay since it saves tempos and you can pinpoint the delay down to the millisecond, so I suggest it if you decide to buy a another delay pedal as long as you keep your old one, imo it's a great accompanying delay but not the best if it's the only delay you have. | SuicideByStar
12.28.12 | What other pedals do you run?
| wacknizzle
12.28.12 | Not much right now, just a Boss Tremolo and a Boss chorus pedal and a volume pedal if you count that. My amp has spring reverb so I already got that covered. | SuicideByStar
12.28.12 | Ah, Nice. I was thinking about getting a volume pedal, would be really nice for swells, but I've blown enough guitar money the past few days as it is ahaha. |
