I've seen Impending Doom play live, and midway through their set they had a little preachy moment, thanking God for the chance to play music as their careers and whatnot. It didn't really bother me, but I don't think it was really necessary.

TheEnigma 01.13.13	Music is about expression, and a band's lyrics reflect their values as individuals that have come together with a similar vision. In light of that, it makes sense that a band would propagate their beliefs in either direction. That said, if it 'bothers' you, don't listen to it. What bothers me more than both of the things you mentioned is when people 'don't pay attention to the lyrics, it's all about the music'. That sounds so ridiculous to me. But hey, my opinion is just one of many.

I've listening to a lot of anti-religious music that's just very angtsy and abrasive, and I don't usually like that. Both sides can really take it too far in their respective aspects, though (praising "god" throughout an entire song to the point of annoyance; slamming religion just for the sake of it)
