02.24.13 | I like the first disc of 69 the most, I haven't listened to the other stuff enough. Too Drunk To Dream is a good post-69 song, imo. | YankeeDudel
02.24.13 | ive heard like a third of 2. great catchy lil songs though. need to finish it. | TheNexus100
02.24.13 | i think holiday might be my fave for now but 69 love songs grows and grows. its a lot to digest, like a lot, but I keep finding amazing songs every time I skim through it | ILJ
02.24.13 | I've liked all the stuff of theirs I've heard. That being 69 Love Songs and their latest two. | AliW1993
02.25.13 | I love The Magnetic Fields in spite of their obvious flaws. Most their records are pretty patchy but they all have their gems, and the mere concept of 69 Love Songs makes it a stonewall classic.
I distinctly remember buying that record about two years ago. I'd had my own relationship problems etc etc and I went out impulsively looking for music I could wallow in. I came home with 69 Love Songs, It's A Wonderful Life by Sparklehorse and Ladies And Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space by Spiritualized, and they've all become personal favourites in their own unique ways. 69 Love Songs has a fair amount of filler but tracks like All My Little Words, I Don't Want To Get Over You, Book Of Love and Busby Berkeley Dreams are unbeatable. |
