Boardwalk Empire is probably my 2nd favourite series right now next to Breaking Bad. The pace can be a bit slow, but very good series overall. I highly recommend it.
I still need to watch The Walking Dead. Everyone has been saying good things about it. |

03.04.13 | It's extremely hit and miss. It's mostly miss, but boy when it hits it hits good. It could be a lot better and it's kind of hard to trudge through the middle of the second season but it ain't bad. Way overhyped though.
I'll definitely look into Boardwalk. I've seen/heard good things. |

I'll check it out anyway, thanks ILJAJLM. I guess Boardwalk Empire is a bit similar. Each season starts off with a great opener, then the middle is just kind of slow and filled with 'build-up' episodes that set up stuff for future events- but the final 3 episodes are always so intense that it's well worth the patience. |

I think over the top is what they were going for there. They generally have tight knit writing and it seems strange to me that something as ridiculous as that would be something that they thought realistic. |

Same here. It used go be MY show, if you know what I mean, because I watched it the first night it ever aired. Now everybody in the known universe is watching it and talking about it, which is great, but I liked it more when it was this special thing that I had, this special connection. Because my dad got brain cancer around the same time it first aired and when Walt's cancer when into remission I seriously wept my eyes out. It was sacred to me. |
