My favourite albums as of now, only one album per artist. Hope this interests rsomeone rsomewhere or at least encourages people to listen any of this.rThe explanations a re rpretty much the same thing repeated but I am quite single rminded in what I look for in rmusic so there you go. |

The Earth Sings Mi Fa Mi
No matter how many times I listen to this it never gets boring. First heard this in my local cd store in and bought it
because I liked their first album. It took a while for me to fall for it. I had my favourite songs but one day it clicked
and it became the only thing I listened to. Everything else I've listened to still pales in comparison. It might not be
the most original album out there and perhaps it is a bit homogeneous in its overall sound but nothing else has
spoken to me in the same way and as consistently. The dense production the brilliant lyrics the multiple vocal
melodies. My favourite album no doubt. |

Lost In the Sound of Separation
Underoath. My first "screamo" band. My friend had burnt me copies of TOCS and DtGL. I thought it was pretty cool.
One of them was a disc that couldn't be read by anything but my DVD player. I knew my grandma wouldn't be too
into that kind of music. I have memories of kneeling in front of the TV with the volume down just enough to hear
it. Then finally got a proper of copy of DtGL and it blew my mind. Lost in the Sound of Separation was everything
I expected and more. My grandma bought it for me after I had explained that they were a Christian band.
It has
awesome complex grooves. Great vocals from Spencer and Aaron. Sporadic drumming. And a great amount of
experimentation and most
of all heart. Still my favourite album from them. |

Catch For Us the Foxes
All their albums are exceptional. But "January 1979". That song speaks to me on so many different levels. The rest of
the album is just as good. Aaron's lyrics are amazing. That about covers that. |

Beggars
Varied yet consistent and full of emotion. Dustin's voice is the best. Raw and emotional. |

Mean Everything To Nothing
Andy Hull is a brilliant vocalist/song writer, and no where is it more obvious than MEtN. Shake it Out is just brilliant
all the way through, catchy yet so powerful. |

Come Now Sleep
This is one of those albums that you can not go through one whole listen without feeling something. For me it is
always in the ending of Timothy. Cody's vocals aren't for everyone but I love them, filled with grief and desperation,
his thin whine just breaks my heart (yeah I am aware of how cheesy that sounds). Beautiful in its doubt and sorrow.
Probably my second favourite record. |

Sever Your Roots
This is one is a work of art. Dark and rich. Dense and sporadic. I'm probably just reusing words but a lot of these
records do very similar things. But the Felix Culpa man they just make everything super epic. Forlorn chants, brilliant
guitar riffs and even haunting violin. This record has it all. |

Daisy
The first Brand New album I ever heard. Man I definitely jumped in my set when Vices came on in proper. The car just
began to blast this amazing noise. Their other albums are really good and I almost put TDaG on this list but Daisy
will always have way more impact for me. Just a great noisy record. Jesse Lacey is perfect vocalist regardless of
whether he's screaming or singing. |

Garden Window
I wanted a bigger more epic Fire era Thrice. O'Brother delivered. Tanner has a brilliant voice very much reminiscent of
Dustin's earthy tones. And now that Thrice have begun a hiatus O'Brother fill the gap for me nicely. |
| 10 |  | Pedro The Lion
Control
Slow and depressing. The lyrics on this thing are just so good. He says it like it is and the story of man cheats wife
kills him is the perfect backdrop for Bazan's study of life, death, desire, religion and corporate politics. |

Wildlife
Tracks like King Park and Edward Bens 27 Times are just so heart breaking it hurts even more knowing that they're
100 percent true. La Dispute do these people and their stories a great service in bringing the listener into their
world so that we may share in their pain through what some may is over dramatic music but I think is just fine.
Raw and unyielding, yet not afraid to explore a path that isn't just crazed noodling like on their first release. A
great show of how art can contribute to a community by exposing and revealing the stories that take place there. I
feel Dreyer is making a direct response to how news outlets are so insensitive towards death and tragedy. This
album doesn't remedy that but it goes some way to making the voices of its subjects heard and more importantly
felt and that is what makes this album so beautiful. It gives people a voice, Dreyers emotive scream/shout but a
voice none the less. |

What It Takes To Move Forward
Yes it has now usurped Scogin...
My favourite emo record. Just makes me feel so sad. And that is a good thing if you haven't already figured from
the previous albums. Keith Latinen's lyrics are always on the ball as well.
Other albums that should be on this list. In the Aeroplane Over the Sea. and The World Is...'s debut.
And probably millions I haven't heard yet. Or have neglected unfairly. |
