10 One-Album Wonders

Some of these artists were derailed by death. Some by emotional and mental instability. Some rby the fact that they were just not all that talented but managed to capture lightning in a bottle rone time.
1Sex Pistols
Never Mind The Bollocks

The band may have been a marketing gimmick that was better at making headlines than music, but they accidentally sparked
a revolution.
2Fugees
The Score

Their debut was good, but the follow-up was a classic. And it spawned the solo-careers of Wyclef Jean and Lauryn Hill too...
3Jeff Buckley
Grace

Buckley's mystique will remain well-preserved by his troubled life and tragic death, but his legacy will live on in Grace.
4Lauryn Hill
The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill

Once a member of the Fugees, Lauryn Hill turned in an undeniable neo-soul classic that she has never followed up, possibly
due to suspected emotional and psychological issues. 15 years later, she still has fans eagerly awaiting a sequel.
5Third Eye Blind
Third Eye Blind

3EB might just be the quintessential '90s band and the self-titled debut might be the quintessential '90s album; combining pop-
oriented melodies and upbeat fuzz-toned guitars with some dark and deeply introspective subject matter.
6The Stone Roses
The Stone Roses

Combine '60s rock with synthetic dance music and you have a genre-defining album you wouldn't be embarrassed to get
caught singing or dancing to.
7Mad Season
Above

A grunge supergroup that makes an album which doesn't particularly sound particularly grungy but is brilliant nevertheless?
Who'd have thought it possible?
8Atomship
The Crash of `47

Bad luck and general mainstream ignorance doomed this band that combined progressive rock and metal influences with a
post-grunge aesthetic to create something completely fresh and engaging.
9The Darkness
Permission To Land

While the band gets no points for originality, the debut album gets all the points in the world for being perhaps the most fun
thing to happen to rock music in the early 2000's. The band is still trying to get back to the stratospheric levels of this
cheeseball masterpiece.
10Hootie and the Blowfish
Cracked Rear View

Hootie was a one-hit wonder that somehow managed to repackage that hit several times over the course of an album and
become one of the most popular bands in the world. You weren't alive in 1994 if you can't sing one of their songs.
Unsurprisingly, the band was never able to follow up the sheer pop-rock immediacy of Cracked Rear View, but I hear the lead
singer is a country musician now? That's funny on several levels.
