FOB Discography Ranked

Ever since I saw Fall Out Boy the day after finals this year I have constantly had their lyrics floating about my head all day during work. So I figured I would make this. *****Also, their split with Project Rocket is not in here because all of the songs are on their debut and it is a split album.****
1Fall Out Boy
Take This To Your Grave

Funny story about this album: I went to my local record store and got all of Fall Out Boy's CD's from FUCT to Folie and before I was about to check out the guy that had helped me asked me why I wasn't getting this CD because it was his favorite (he is a punk fan). So reluctantly, but trusting his wisdom I got it. (Actually, in the Folie a Duex CD case was this CD so I got two TTTYG, but I took it back and ordered Folie.) ANYWAYS...this is my favorite for many reasons. 1. Some of their best songs were written on here (the obvious Tell Mick, Chicago Was), but there are also some unknown ones that are pure gold like Sending Postcards from a Plane Crash, The Pros and Cons of Breathing, and The Patron Saint of Liars and Fakes. 2. It provides the perfect mix of some post hardcore/punk/hardcore with pop-punk. and 3. The production is solid unlike their debut CD.
2Fall Out Boy
Folie a Deux

Props to Tyler Magistrelli to turning me onto this CD. It is his favorite and rightfully so. Yes, it is a VERY poppy album, but I am oddly OK with that. Even though it is extremely pop laden, I appreciate Fall Out Boy's most mature instrumentals yet. As an added addition Patrick Stump sounds phenominal on this album. Songs like Disloyal Order, America's Suitehearts, 27, What A Catch Donnie, Tiffany Blews, w.a.m.s., 20 Dollar Noes Bleed, and West Coast Smoker I can always count on this album to put me in a good mood.
3Fall Out Boy
My Heart Will Always Be the B-Side...

My Heart Will Always Be the B-Side to My Tongue is is HIGHLY underrated. Fall Out Boy released this right before From Under the Cork Tree came out and in my opinion it is one of the best EP's I have ever heard. It contains two songs that appear on Fall Out Boy records (Grand Theft Autumn.../Nobody Puts Baby...), one that appears on the deluxe version of FUCT, a Joy Division cover (which is fantastic by the way), and a new song (It's Not a Side Effect of the Cocaine, I Am Thinking It Must Be Love). All of the songs are enjoyable and in my opinion (with the expection of Grand Theft Autumn) better than their original recordings. ALSO, fun fact the cover art was done by the mighty Jacob Bannon of Converge - what is not to love about that? This is great for people who like Fall Out Boy but can't listen to a full album of them.
4Fall Out Boy
From Under the Cork Tree

Everyone's favorite. It's pretty good. A lot of "classic" Fall Out Boy songs, but not as consistent as the ones above it. Nearly everyone knows all of these songs, but some of the popular ones are kinda boring like A Little Less Than Sixteen Candles, and Nobody Puts Baby in the Corner. I listen to A Little Less Than Sixteen candles and i don't even realize that it is over when it ends it is so boring. With that being said I Slept with Someone in Fall Out Boy... is one of my all time favorites by them.
5Fall Out Boy
Infinity on High

I constantly go back and forth with this one because at first I loved this album to death. But what I soon realized was that the first half was great (especially the song The Take Over, The Break Over). But with songs like Bang the Doldrums, You're Crashing But You're No Wave the second half of the CD turns into a yawnfest with sprinkles of brilliance that are all too few to save the second half of the CD. However, Thriller, Hum Hallelujah, The Carpal Tunnel of Love, Thnks Fr Th Mmrs, I'm Like A Lawyer... are all excellent. (FYI This Ain't A Scene, It's an Arms Race SUCKS!)
6Fall Out Boy
Save Rock and Roll

I get what they are trying to do. Its an album made in complete irony over all modern "rock" acts. In my opinion minus the single tracks, this CD is very lackluster and boring. Plus, Courtney Love's name on anything gives me enough reason to call it rubish.
7 Fall Out Boy
Fall Out Boy's Evening Out With Your Girlfriend

Facetious title? Check. Terrible production? Check. Yep, it's a debut album. While there is a good song or two on this album, this really is Fall Out Boy's writing at its worse. Also, the guitar and vocals sound ghastly and were completely distracting from what good there is in this album. The key change in the last part of Pretty in Punk is certainly cringe worthy. And it is no wonder I don't like Calm Before the Storm from TTTYG because it is from this album. However, don't get it twisted in saying that I hate this album because it is "more punk." Another fun fact, the intro riff in Moving Pictures that sounds like Thunderstruck by AC/DC. It is just a bad album and I am thankful that they wrote better music.
