Death Albums Ranked

is this death day? Whatever, tough call but hey
1Death
Human

This just has the best feel to it. More focused than Symbolic on the faster tunes
and often more varied in tone, it's got several of Death's best tracks. All round their
strongest.
2Death
Symbolic

In many ways Death's best written album. Good selection of tracks with good
pacing and some of Death's all time best, and not nearly so disjointed as TSOP, just
generally one of their best, but Human's more streamlined and aggressive feel
makes it an easier jam and Symbolic can drag a little.
3Death
The Sound Of Perseverance

With some of Death's very greatest tracks like Story To Tell, Flesh And The Power
It Holds and Spirit Crusher, this has some of Death's greatest moments. However,
Death's songwriting can be a little drawn out or disjointed here, and not all of the
riffs hit home, leaving a few sour spots that allows Symbolic and Human to edge
past.
4Death
Individual Thought Patterns

Death's easiest jam with a lot of decent tracks of the right length, but it isn't quite
as insipiring as Human throughout. It has some really great songs that are easily
among the band's best (Trapped In A Corner, Overactive Imagination, The
Philosopher, Mentally Blind), but as a whole it doesn't really inspire that much. Still
awesome.
5Death
Leprosy

More polished than Scream Bloody Gore and a bit more exhilarating than Spiritual
Healing, this is the best of the pre-Human Death albums.
6Death
Spiritual Healing

All round a fun Death release with some great riffs and songs. A bit less consistent
than Leprosy, but with some very strong highs in Altering The Future, Defensive
Personalities and the title track. Edges Scream by a fair amount.
7Death
Scream Bloody Gore

A fun jam and full of primal energy, but worse written than any of their other
albums and not many tracks really qualify as classics. Not as polished as any of the
following albums either.
