Top 15 Albums Of 2013
Here are my top albums from 2013, if you want to call it that. I'm pretty bitter about how rmany elite releases were missing from this year compared to recent years. I take two things rinto consideration when I rank these albums, 1. How the album compares to the previous rrelease from the band. 2. How often do I get the urge to listen to that album. Pretty simple. I rusually do a pretty intricate ranking system and review reach year, but this year I just don't rhave the time. |
15 | | Amon Amarth Deceiver of the Gods
An Amon Amarth release... the usual. |
14 | | Children of Bodom Halo of Blood
Children of Bodom surprised me a little with this one. It's listenable, some nice tracks. |
13 | | Suidakra Eternal Defiance
I haven't been into them as much lately, but there are some good tracks on here with female vocals. |
12 | | Hibria Silent Revenge
Nowhere near where they used to be, Defying the Rules era is what I'm talking about. Still not bad. |
11 | | Finntroll Blodsvept
Good album, but not quite on par with their last release which I liked a lot. |
10 | | Holy Grail Ride the Void
This one has grown on me over the course of the year. Saw them live a couple months ago and was turned off by the vocalist
live performance. Still, a good album. |
9 | | Eternal Tears of Sorrow Saivon Lapsi
This is good, I like these guys' past two releases. |
8 | | Bad Religion True North
Best album in a while from Bad Religion. |
7 | | Amaranthe The Nexus
A band that everyone loves to hate. So cheesy and so melodic, I find enjoyment when listening to Amaranthe. Not on par with
their first release in my opinion. |
6 | | Kalmah Seventh Swamphony
When doesn't Kalmah put out a good album? Seven Swamphony is an album I'll be revisiting time and time again and I have a
feeling it hasn't reached it's full potential for me yet. |
5 | | Queens of the Stone Age ...Like Clockwork
Took a couple spins but this release is great from start to finish. |
4 | | myGRAIN Planetary Breathing
Very solid album from these guys. They are already working on new material. Sweet. |
3 | | Turisas 2013
This is the most confusing album of 2013, or should I saw weird? Their worst release to date, but somehow I listen to it often.
It's definitely grown on me. |
2 | | Soilwork The Living Infinite
Wow, what a comeback album from these guys. Who saw this coming? A double album to boot. Great stuff Soilwork. |
1 | | Amorphis Circle
Circle is Amorphis' best release since Silent Waters and may have potential to be their best to date. |
