| What Songs Should My Band Play?
we have a show on May 4th in Ottawa at Mavericks and need
songs to play. Some ideas are: | | 1 | Sikth
Peepshow
Relatively easy to the rest of the stuff on the list, and it has vocals that are easier than other Sikth songs. | | 2 | Bland Street Bloom
My vocalist will have to compromise the screaming from Mikee but I can do the half singing/growling
style he does. The bass and drums in the song are amazing as well. | | 3 | Between the Buried and Me
Selkies (The Endless Obsession)
Amazing song and it has lots of depth. One problem = It's really long and my drummer has to learn
heel-toe double pedal to last that long. | | 4 | Fall of Troy
I Just Got This Symphony Goin'
Great song but there are problems: My band might not like the song, bass is REALLY easy and there is
almost only 1 guitar. | | 5 | The Human Abstract
Vela, Together We Await the Storm
Ok song, my band loves these guys, the guitar is pretty good but there is a lot of repetitiveness in the
song and the vocals are terrible (easily fixed). | | 6 | Protest the Hero

Amazing instrumentals and vocals. I get to show off my sweet bass tapping skills and my guitarists get
to look flashy. Problem: My vocalist doesn't have a voice like Rody's, range wise, his screaming is better. | | 7 | Coheed and Cambria
Welcome Home
We can all play it and can make it a little more hardcore with more screaming, just no talk box or we
will have to borrow it. | | 8 | Children of Bodom
Downfall
I don't really like these guys but they are relatively easy because we all at one point knew the song. | | 9 | Between the Buried and Me
All Bodies
I want to do White Walls, but it is way to long! All Bodies is really good and the sweeps are impressive
but easy compared to Selkies or White Walls. | | 10 | Bullet for My Valentine
4 Words (to Choke upon)
The song is brilliant, has so many innovative features and is so hardcore! | |

03.22.08 | Welcome Home is a real crowd pleaser, so do that for sure.
Bloodmeat is pretty hard to keep together, but the payoff is great. Give it a try, but practice it a lot, it can be hard to keep the whole thing together.
Downfall is just a great song to play live, do that one for sure.
Definitely don't do Bullet.
