Things To Look Forward To In 2014

With only a few weeks left in 2013, it's time to look to 2014. 2013 saw a lot of returns/reunions. Some were great (MBV!) some were fairly lackluster (The Dismemberment Plan). Some of those who were absent in 2013 will hopefully show up in 2014. What are yours?

It has to be this year. Please God. Please. It's been almost 7 years since "We Were Dead" and this little EP I'm tagging.

10,000 Days

Maynard turns 50 this year. It's been 8 years since their decent 10,000 Days, but we're all rabid for it. If not this year.... I have doubts if ever.
3The Decemberists
The King is Dead

It's already been confirmed from Colin Meloy that the Decemberists will return in 2014. Hopefully it'll be a return to greatness from their earlier works, but it'll likely be a gravitation towards their more radio friendly material like this.

You're a Woman, I'm a Machine

They teased it, but it didn't come in 2013. Will we finally see it? I sure as shit hope so.

Adventure

The band has said they are writing again. Adventure may not have been as stellar as Marquee Moon, but just having a new album would be awesome.

Tomboy

My favorite aspect of Animal Collective. It's been 3 years since Tomboy, which was a solid effort, but the man's got talent. Let's see him bring it again. It was four years between the last album, so this one might not be a reality.

Hurry Up, We're Dreaming

This might be a longshot, as he's been working on soundtracks, but he's kept a 3 year gap between albums thus far.

2013 release was put on hold due to the passing of Bill. But I've seen an album listed here and there on websites indicating we'll finally see them return.

The Brutalist Bricks

He's been quiet lately, that means he's recording... I hope.

Days

Their last one was excellent. They keep the 2-3 year time frame so far, and that means it's time. They've begun touring again too...

Burst Apart

Another two-three year gap that they've kept going, but it might not happen due to their EP in 2012, and this year the lead singer put out a solo EP that was rather... lackluster.

The King of Limbs

Thom Yorke has said they are writing. Is it true? Possibly. This would be higher, but I've learned to not expect anything when it comes to these Brits. I'd love it if they put out a new album, but I'm highly skeptical.

It's been three years. They've shaved their beards. Something's gotta be coming.

Tomorrow's Hits

Didn't like their 2013 album too much, wasn't as abrasive as their last two. But this new one's been confirmed for March 5th I think, so let's hope it's back to their abrasive ways.

Two to three years is their staple usually. Haven't made a bad album yet.

There Is No Enemy

Almost five years for this indie rock veterans. Last one was a step up. Let's hope they continue to rise.
