| When Rockstars Have Bad Ideas
There comes a time in every rock stars career where they think that they are untouchable and rthey can pretty much do what they want. Hindsights a wonderful thing I think. | | 1 |  | Chris Cornell
Scream
As the lead singer of one of the 90's most influential bands, Chris expanded his
wings with his melancholic first solo album, most fans were ok with this.
Unfortunately for Chris most fans were not ok with this Hip Hop inspired Timberland

Rock N Roll Gangster
This is the epitome of what happens when rock stars have too much ego and
power. Korn were at the height of their fame when Fieldy obviously thought that
he would live his childhood dream of being a rapper. For some reason no one
stopped him and what happened seems unforgivable. Terrible rapping and cringe
inducing lyrics can be everywhere on this album. The album title alone should be

Standing in the Spotlight
God rest his soul, Dee Dee King is a legend and in my eyes no matter what he did
he will always be a legend. But he came very close to ruining his legacy with this
attempt at a hip hop album. Its mainly forgotten about thankfully as it's absolutely
dreadful. Even Dee Dee laughed it off as a load of rubbish. | | 4 |  | Megadeth
Risk
At the end of the 90's Megadave decided that, much like his fellow rockers
Metallica, they would branch out from their pigeon hole and delve into soft rock
mainstream territory. The result is this tedious affair of rubbish, apart from the odd
riff here and there, this is unrecognisable from the band that brought us 'Peace
Sells, Who's Buying'. It divided the fans and it took quite a while for Mustaine to
dig Megadeth out of the trenches again | | 5 |  | Machine Head
Supercharger
Machine Heads crown had slipped a bit with the nu metal inspired 'The Burning Red',
but loyal fans remained convinced that Flynn and co will return to their thrash roots
and shred like never before. Unfortunately for them, Machine Head reappeared with
this album full of promise and hope, but ultimately delivering tired songs and poor
lyrics. The nu-metal influences remained and the rapping was still present, there

Eat Me, Drink Me
Marilyn Manson's popularity was never going to last, his immediate impact was so
huge, there was only one way to go. Prior to this release he had lost a few fans
with his change in musical direction. But this seemed to nail the coffin shut for
many fans, an introspective tired release, there is nothing exciting here. For the
first time Manson seemed, well, boring! He has struggled to regain his fanbase ever

Blackacidevil
Glenn Danzig is awesome in my eyes and all his albums have something to offer, but
I suppose this strange release divides his fans. The album is an industrial/electronic
mess, sort of like Nine Inch Nails meets Rammstein meets utter garbage. The
production kills the album which offers a white noise style listen at some points.
'Sacrifice' and the title track save the album for me, but most Danzig fans can't

Illud Divinum Insanus
Morbid Angel fans waited 7 years for the band to release a new studio album with
returning singer Dave Vincent. The fans wanted 'Covenant' mark 2, they got an
industrial death metal stomp. This album has been trounced by Angel fans
worldwide with its Rammstein/Marilyn Manson esque sounds and over produced
synthesised beats. A shadow of their former death metal glories. | | 9 |  | Iron Maiden
Virtual XI
Along with many other 'heavy metal' bands, the 90's were a trying time for Maiden.
Their time without Dickinson at the helm is a mere footnote in the Maiden legacy,
but produced 2 albums with Blaze Bayley's vocal contributions. The 'X factor' was
a dark morbid decent album, but this album is dreadful. Songs like 'When 2 Worlds
Collide' and 'The Educated Fool' are just terrible corny metal tracks, the album is
punctuated with awful lyrics and far too much use of keyboards. Maiden rightfully
'U turned' after this album and this album seems like a bad dream for them. | | 10 |  | Metallica
St. Anger
How could I not include this? Personally I like most of this album, but as bad ideas
go this is up there. Like always Metallica fans were eagerly awaiting the bands
next release, 6 years it had been since the opinion splitting Load/Re-load affair.
The promise of the thrash being back was there, gone were the blues inspired
croons and the riffs were back. How could this fail? Firstly Ulrich's drums sound like
bin lids, gone are the legendary solo's and Hetfield's voice is annoyingly scream like
and at times unlistenable. It was meant to be stripped back and raw, but it ended
up being awful and at times a bit dull. | |

04.08.14 | Nice list man. 7 is one of my biggest disappointments as I love Danzig and enjoyed so much what they had released up to that point. I always hope he decides to put out something like the first three albums even though the probability of that happening isn't so high. | therapy20
04.08.14 | manosg - I agree man, love Danzig but Blackacidevil is pretty much unlistenable. His recent album is a decent return to form after some poor albums, but I'd love him to do something similar to his 1-4 albums.
