04.29.08 | LOL...I got into a lot of these bands BECAUSE of Guitar Hero. I thank that game everyday for #1. And I appreciate #7 more because of it.
Guitar Hero actually didn't ruin a lot of these songs for me. I still love #9, #10 and #11. In fact, the only song that was probably ruined for me by that game was "Through The Fire And The Flames," which didn't make your list surprisingly.
But this is an understandable list, anyways. Very nice. |

Electric City
04.30.08 | Through the Fire and the Flames was a terrible song to begin with, only made worse by millions of teenages bragging about how good they are at it. |

04.30.08 | Huh. It's almost as if most of these were singles at some point or another and got heavy radio play or were very popular songs. Guitar Hero might have helped out their popularity, but most if not all were already somewhat well-known. |

04.30.08 | thats funny Masochist, cause #1 was one of the biggest reasons why I made this list, when BH&R came out, it became one of my favorite Muse songs and I showed it to a bunch of my friends and they weren't that into it, fast forward to guitar hero III and their just like "OMG that's the song from guitar hero bro!" |

04.30.08 | LOL...those guys are crazy. Then again, I can't blame them: I discover about 60% of my music through video games (a rough estimate). When you're friends are presenting it to you, you have a tendency to sort of write it off...but when it becomes something a bit more personal (like a song from a video game that you really enjoy listening to), it can get stuck in your head more. At least...that's what happens to me.
Before Guitar Hero III, I'd only heard of Muse on Sputnik, and everyone kept singing praises...but I'd never checked them out before. When the game came out, the Muse song was one of the first to catch my attention. After that, I got interested in the c.d. BH & R, and after that came Origin of Symmetry, and THAT c.d. is the reason why I thank GHIII everyday for Knights of Cydonia. |
