Puberty/early Teenage Times (2000 - 2002)

Puberty, all of us went through it and most of us had hard times during that phase.
1Korn
Korn

I remember listening to this album 24/7 during the whole 2001. This album was all I needed to start my day, I used to think it was a masterpiece. To be honest, I still think this album is excellent.
2Mushroomhead
XX

I bought this album when I was an angsty 7th grader, and it was amazing! When I first listened to it I was totally blown away, it was really insane, and the lyrics were my favorite. I still think this album is great
3Metallica
Ride The Lightning

For Whom The Bell Tolls was the first "riffy" song I ever learned to play in guitar, I was only 12 and felt like a total pro because of it hehe. This is the album that got me into soloing.
4Mudvayne
L.D. 50

Another "insane" album for me at the time. Back then I did not know anything about odd-time signatures, and had no interest for the technical levels in music, but this album came pretty much like a punch to the face. I loved every single song in this album. Another album from that time that is excellent.
5 Chevelle
Wonder What's Next

Back then, I all cared for was heaviness, but this particular album changed that. Pete's voice instantly hooked me up, it was also pretty much the only album I could play from start to finish in my mom's car without her complaining about the "noise."
6Slipknot
Slipknot

Oh yeaaaah! I'm a tough 6th grader!
I remember seeing the video for Wait and Bleed and thinking "OMG! these guys are heavy as hell!" a couple of days later, I bought the album. Next week I was like the BIGGEST slipknot fan in my school. (come on, I was just 11!)
7Deftones
Around The Fur

OK, from all the bands of that time, this is the ONLY band I'm a fan of, White Pony is sincerely one of my top 5 albums ever.
White Pony was too bizarre and laidback for me back then, but Around The Fur was another album I just loved, and still do! I felt like it was perfectly balanced between heaviness and soft moments.
8Spineshank
The Height of Callousness

I got this for my 13th birthday, had never heard anything from them, but my friend who gave it to me it said "if you don't like it, you may kick my balls." He was right, I LOVED it, it was one of the heaviest albums I owned and also the one who got me into industrial. They became one of my favorite bands a year later with "Self-Destructive Pattern" which is in my opinion, one of the best "nu metal" albums.
9The Offspring
Americana

I wasn't much into punk back then, but this album was just too damn catchy, I loved every single song in it. This album was perfect for parties, it just cheered everyone up and made them sing along.
10Kittie
Spit

Another one I got during 6th grade. I saw the video for Charlotte and saidd "Wooow, those chicks are cool... and hot!" I got this album right away, and showed it to everyone in my school, it was like "Dude, you've got to listen to Kittie, they're chicks who play heavy as hell!" hahaha, how pathetic! Anyway, I used to praise Kittie and I gave my first kiss listening to the song Brackish.
