| Top 15 Iron Maiden Albums
Since 1980, Iron Maiden has been pumping out albums. Here they are. Note that this is objective and rrrunbiased. | 15 | | Iron Maiden No Prayer for the Dying
1990s No Prayer for the Dying attempted at returning to the Dianno era. It didnt work.
Really, it didnt. It was a hot holy smoking *pun intended* mess. Only one or two songs here are worth listening to, and that is Holy Smoke and
Bring Your Daughter To the Slaughter. This is likely the worst Maiden album. | 14 | | Iron Maiden The X Factor
1995s The X Factor for me was quite dull. It lacked the energy of their other albums. Only
one song stood out for me and thats The Sign of the Cross. Overall the album was quite weak. | 13 | | Iron Maiden Virtual XI
1998s Virtual XI had Futureal and the epic The Clansman and that?s about it. Like The X
Factor, the album overall is quite dull. Definitely not one on Maidens best. | 12 | | Iron Maiden Fear of the Dark
1992s Fear of the dark has only one or maybe even two redeeming tracks on it; and thats
the amazingly good title track and the slower Wasting Love. Most of the album seems to be a
continuation of attempting at returning to the bands punk roots, as seen in No Prayer for the Dying. This
attempt ended with a mess. Well, minus the title track. | 11 | | Iron Maiden The Final Frontier
Iron Maidens most recent album, 2010s The Final Frontier didnt stand out for me as much as
I think it should and I dont know why. Perhaps its because it doesnt do much new. Notable
tracks here go to Starblind and the epic When the Wild Wind Blows. | 10 | | Iron Maiden Iron Maiden
Now for 1980s self-titled debut album. Iron Maiden, along with Killers has Paul Dianno on
vocals. The album is home to one of Maidens best: Phantom of the Opera, which blows
everything else on the album away. | 9 | | Iron Maiden Killers
1981s Killers was the only album other than the self-titled debut with Paul Dianno on vocals;
and the album is quite good. Standout songs include Wrathchild and the title track. | 8 | | Iron Maiden Dance of Death
2003s Dance of Death didnt stand up to Brave New World or A Matter of Life and Death, but
it was still quite good. Notable tracks include No More Lies, Rainmaker, the title track,
Paschendale, and Maidens only acoustic to date, Journeyman. | 7 | | Iron Maiden A Matter of Life and Death
2006s A Matter of Life and Death mostly tackled religion and war. The album is equivalent to
Dance of Death, but edges out because its standout tracks are just a little better. Speaking of
which: The Longest Day being , The Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg, Brighter than a Thousand Suns and These Colours Don't Run. | 6 | | Iron Maiden Brave New World
2000 saw the return of Bruce Dickinson and the departure of Blaze Bayley, as well as the
upgrade to a triple guitar style. And then there was a new album. Brave new world is on par
with the likes of SSOASS. Its just hard to describe why Brave New World is so good. Standout songs
include The Wicker Man, the title track, Out of the Silent Planet, Blood brothers and, well,
most of the album. | 5 | | Iron Maiden Seventh Son of a Seventh Son
1988s Seventh Son of a Seventh Son took a progressive edge as well as introduced
keyboards. In addition, there was continued use of guitar synthesizers. Because of this, it
could be considered a concept album. The Evil That Men Do and the title track dominate the album. | 4 | | Iron Maiden Piece of Mind
Most tracks off of 1983s Piece of Mind were influenced by works of literature. Standout tracks
include The Trooper, which had mainstream success in the states, and the bass-heavy Flight of
Icarus. | 3 | | Iron Maiden Somewhere in Time
1986s Somewhere in Time introduced guitar synthesizers for the first time, as well as not
having any writing credits from Bruce Dickinson. Standout tracks include Caught Somewhere
in Time, Stranger in a Strange Land, Wasted Years and the eight minute epic, Alexander the
Great. | 2 | | Iron Maiden Powerslave
1984s Powerslave is one of Maidens best. This is defined by 2 Minutes to Midnight, Aces High,
the title track, and the thirteen minute epic, The Rime of the Ancient Mariner. | 1 | | Iron Maiden The Number of the Beast
1982s The Number of the Beast ties with Powerslave as the best Maiden album, but takes the
edge because of three songs: Run to the Hills, the title track and Hallowed be thy Name. The
album was also debut for Bruce Dickinson, replacing Paul Di'anno. | |

09.14.14 | 13 is definitely 15. | Mythodea
09.14.14 | Don't forget ''Tailgunner' and 'The Assassin'' off of 15. Also, Dance of Death is way overrated. Props for having 3 on 3. Doesn't get much love.
Also, have you listened to Iron Maiden? Cool band, check 'em out. :P | DrJohn
09.14.14 | 13 is definitely 15 [2]
15 is underrated
10 should be placed higher, probably higher than 6

09.14.14 | I think that 1 is slightly overrated. Aside from the singles, I feel like the album is weaker than the two that preceded it and the albums that came after (up until NPFTD). 2 is my favorite, but I prefer 3 a good bit of the time due to the strength of its deeper cuts. The loneliness of a long distance runner and deja vu are both absolute bangers. | Onirium
