09.17.14 | 15, 14, and 13 are just head scratchers. I don't know if your counting the early early ep versions of 'Song Seven' and 'A Time to be so Small' but they are some of my favorite Interpol songs.
The Specialist is too low. While '5' and 'Public Pervert' are criminally too low and having 'Always Malaise (The Man I Am) at 22 is just insane.
I'd say the top 5 is interchangeably accurate but as a Huge Interpol I disagree with this list as a whole big time. |
Insurrection
09.17.14 | "having 'Always Malaise (The Man I Am) at 22 is just insane."
i hope you mean its too low rather than too high |

09.17.14 | Well 'Always Malaise' Is a beautiful piece of music instrumentally. I just find it to be one of Paul Banks most grating vocal performances. |
Insurrection
09.17.14 | the outro of that song is one of interpols best moments imo
shame about the production and vocals though |

09.17.14 | Really the top 50 of these are absolutely fantastic imo, I just stuck with personal preference after that. I've never much liked "Public Pervert" though I know it has fans. Didn't know anyone liked "Memory Serves" until now, I've always thought it's their blandest and least interesting song. "Length of Love" has an awesome dance beat. I think it's even more of a highlight on Antics than "Slow Hands". They knocked "Rest My Chemistry" and "The Lighthouse" out of the park when I saw them live. I've heard the demo/ep versions of a lot of the early tracks and took that into account too. I do really like their early non-album material ("Specialist, "5", "Song Seven", "Precipitate") and maybe should have ranked them a little higher. "A Time to Be So Small" is a favorite, hence it being in the top 20. Like a lot of s/t I love how "Always Malaise" builds up so much tension - a lot of their more atmospheric tracks ("The Lighthouse", "Try It On"/"All of the Ways"/"The Undoing") are underrated. |
