| Top 25 Bjork Songs
Since I've been listening to nothing but Bjork over the past few weeks, I thought it
was about time I made a list of my favourite songs from everyone's favourite
Icelandic bae. (Although I haven't listened to Medulla yet so let's just pretend that
doesn't exist for a minute) | 25 | | Bjork Vespertine
Undo | 24 | | Bjork Biophilia
Sacrifice | 23 | | Bjork Selmasongs
I've Seen It all | 22 | | Bjork Volta
Wanderlust | 21 | | Bjork Homogenic
All Is Full Of Love | 20 | | Bjork Debut
Venus As A Boy | 19 | | Bjork Homogenic
Joga | 18 | | Bjork Homogenic
Alarm Call | 17 | | Bjork Post
Isobel | 16 | | Bjork Vespertine
It's Not Up To You | 15 | | Bjork Post
It's Oh So Quiet | 14 | | Bjork Vespertine
Hidden Place - since I've been writing this list from #1 downwards, the quality of my writing
has been dropping; so actually when you read this, you get a fun wall of text to read for each
song as you approach the number #1 spot (yay!). Also this is the second time I wrote this list
because bloody Sputnik force-quit on me, so the writing is rushed anyway, enjoy!~ | 13 | | Bjork Voltaic
I Miss You - the version from Voltaic is better than Post IMO, mostly due to the awesome bass
riff and brass sections in it. | 12 | | Bjork Biophilia
Crystalline - the drums at the end are to die for. That is all. | 11 | | Bjork Homogenic
Hunter - the line 'how Scandinavian of me' is probably my favourite part of Homogenic, and
it's a great song overall. | 10 | | Bjork Biophilia
Mutual Core - the biggest surprise from Biophilia, I was half expecting it to erupt into some
major dubstep after the chorus, but that would be too good to be true. The beats in the chorus
in this song are pretty damn tasty still, and I love how it carries the concept within the album
in its lyrics. | 9 | | Bjork Vespertine
Domestica - technically a b-side from the 'Pagan Poetry' single, I'm really disappointed that it
didn't appear on Vespertine, because it's a really nice song. The lyrics are so candid and
charming, unless I'm not reading enough into them; it's probably just all symbolism for sex,
much as most of Bjork's songs in this album are about. | 8 | | Bjork Post
Enjoy - an enjoyably (heh) attitude-y-ish-ly song with some tasty bass and drums going on.
Post is amazingly consistent in the quality of songs it has. | 7 | | Bjork Post
Army Of Me - the explosive introduction to an amazing album. Again, the bass and drums are
tasty as hell; Post is just perfect, isn't it? | 6 | | Bjork Volta
Declare Independence - one of the dirtiest bass lines I've ever heard, and easily my favourite
from Bjork. The vocals and drums are pretty damn brutal too. | 5 | | Bjork Vespertine
Pagan Poetry - Bjork's vocals really shine in the end of this song, the end to this song is my
favourite part off Vespertine. | 4 | | Bjork Debut
Play Dead - the strings and the bass are amazing. And oh my Lord, those vocals. Unnff | 3 | | Bjork Post
Hyper Ballad - little explanation needed for this amazing song, other than they have some of
my favourite ever lyrics: 'I imagine what my body would sound like slamming against those
rocks. And when it lands will my eyes be closed or open?'. | 2 | | Bjork Biophilia
Virus - this song is beautifully delicate. The instrumentation is so restrained and gentle, apart
from the booming yet unthreatening bass, and Bjork's vocals are so soothing. Like
Hyperballad, there's a sinister poetry in the lyrics that you can but only admire. | 1 | | Bjork Volta
Vertebrae by Vertebrae - betcha weren't expecting something from Volta to take the top spot,
were you? I am absolutely in love with this song, it's so dark and unnerving. I love the eerie
lyrics and powerful vocals, I love the repetition of the jarring brass section and the rolling
drums, it's a darker side of Bjork I've barely seen before. Now if only the whole of Volta was
this good... | |

10.29.14 | Also - major hype for Biophilia Live; I've seen a video of the performance of Hidden Place and it is pretty damn fine | AmericanFlagAsh
10.29.14 | I'd have 5 Years somewhere on this... | JJKeys
10.29.14 | I don't like Homogenic as much as everyone else seems to do. Sure, there are some really good songs on there, but so are a lot of her songs | AmericanFlagAsh
10.29.14 | Gasp | Let
10.29.14 | 21 is like top 5 for me. Also Aurora | Friday13th
10.29.14 | No "Bachelorette"!?!? My top five would be Bachelorette, 19, 7, 14, and 3. | JJKeys
10.29.14 | Again, Homogenic aint my favourite cup of tea - Bachelorette almost made it but I remembered how much I liked 24 and 25 | JJKeys
10.29.14 | Oh shit, I forgot Aurora. Damn.
Screw it, I've already done this list twice, I can't be arsed changing it | Ryus
10.29.14 | 19 = 1 | Friday13th
10.29.14 | Fair enough. I don't think it's significantly better than Post or Vespertine either, but a few songs are just so killer. | JJKeys
10.30.14 | Don't get me wrong, Homogenic has soe great songs, but I feel that it doesn't work as an album as a whole in comparison to Post, Vespertine and even Biophilia | JohnnyoftheWell
10.30.14 | Excellent list | Chrisjon89
10.30.14 | rules. can't go wrong. you gotta hear Medulla asap cos it rules. and i gotta get Voltaic. | JJKeys
10.30.14 | I've only heard 'Pleasure Is All Mine' from Medulla - is the rest of the album as good as that song, or is it even better?
And yeah, Voltaic is pretty tasty - definitely give it a try | Chrisjon89
10.30.14 | that's my favourite ^ although most seem to prefer Oceania and Desired Constellation, which both rule as well. nearly every sound on the album is vocal. be interested to see what you think. a lot of people seem to feel she fell away heavily after Vespertine but since you appreciate the later stuff, you'll probably like it.
also highly recommend the Vespertine Live At The Royal Opera House DVD, which I think is on YouTube still. | JJKeys
10.31.14 | Awesome, I'll definitely check them both out sometime soon
As well as checking out Voltaic, check out Volta Live In Reykjavík; its quite toned down in comparison since it's only Bjork and the brass section, still a great performance though | wtferrothorn
12.12.14 | On 15, those vocals blew me away. | JJKeys
12.13.14 | I'm going to have to redo this list - I've been listening to Medulla like a little crackwhore, I love it so much. There'll be at least 5 songs from it I'd have up here - and a lot of these need rearranging, 15 is now in my Top 10, and a load of other stuff too has moved.
Or maybe not - these lists are a lot of effort | lyzakthellama
12.13.14 | I would have a very different list but to each his own all of her songs are incredible. Possibly maybe is on of my favorite songs of all time for sure |
