Rush Album's In Order
I hated 19-16 so that's why there is no info. |
1 | | Rush Moving Pictures
It's not the most Rush-like album, but it's too good to put anywhere else. I don't recommend
this to new fans as a place to start getting into the band, but it's a must have for anyone. |
2 | | Rush 2112
The most important Rush album, it's a breakthrough in concept albums and in prog. It
popularized the idea of telling a story with multiple songs. Ture, only one side is the concept,
but it still was important anyways. The B side is also pretty darn great too. |
3 | | Rush Hemispheres
This is a Rush album through and through. It is Rush at their most progressive. NOT a place
for new fans of prog, but an awesome album for those into the subgenre. |
4 | | Rush Clockwork Angels
It may be a bit odd for this new album to be this high, but I truly think it's that good. It's
probably their most ambitious album since 2112 and it gets just about everything right. It's a
bit of an acquired taste, but one that's worth it. |
5 | | Rush Permanent Waves
Like Moving Pictures, there is very little prog here. But it doesn't matter since this album is as
good as it is. It's catchy and thoughtful. It's largely a reaction to the extreme prog found on
Hemispheres. |
6 | | Rush A Farewell to Kings
This is another true prog album from Rush, and like the others, it's an acquired taste. Unlike
those albums though, there are moments of pop here, like on "Closer to the Heart". |
7 | | Rush Signals
This is a prog pop album. Not just that, but a synth prog pop album. It sounds very 80s, but in
a good kind of quirky way. Not exactly a classic, but still good. |
8 | | Rush Grace Under Pressure
The last really good Rush album, it shows Rush 100% dropping prog, replacing it with a pop
sound. You'll love it or hate it on most albums, but here it works quite well. I think most
people will enjoy it. |
9 | | Rush Fly by Night
Well, we're out of "great" albums, but there are plenty of good ones left. This album is catchy,
but it's really kinda unoriginal. Worth picking up, not worth hunting for. |
10 | | Rush Counterparts
This album shows Rush leaving synth for hard rock, a sound they hadn't really had in years,
and they return in full form. Not a classic, but still really good. |
11 | | Rush Vapor Trails
A solid hard rocker. MAKE SURE TO GET THE REMASTER |
12 | | Rush Snakes & Arrows
There isn't too much to say here. It's a good hard rocker, that's about it. |
13 | | Rush Power Windows
Another synth album. Who cares? It's okay, but nothing special at all. |
14 | | Rush Caress of Steel
It's ok, but is crushed under it's own ambition. |
15 | | Rush Rush
It's Led Zeppelin. It's freaking Zeppelin. |
16 | | Rush Hold Your Fire
Don't buy this |
17 | | Rush Roll the Bones
Don't buy this |
18 | | Rush Test for Echo
Don't buy this |
19 | | Rush Presto
Jesus don't buy this |
