02.03.15 | With rock music I espeically appreciate a good bass line. Unless the vocals are god awful, I'll tend to like anything that clicks
for me instrumentally. A good mood set by the vocalist is almost always more important than the lyrics themself. I do have a
soft spot for quirky personalities in music as well. |
Gameofmetal
02.03.15 | Depends on the music. Emo or melodic hardcore for instance is pretty focused on conveying passionate lyricism I think. Black metal is a very hypnotic experience. At least I often don't make certain to pay attention to every moment of it since it's more about the mood and feel. Tech death is obviously very focused on technical instrumentals. Pop is vocally centered. Not all music is listened to in the same way. |

02.03.15 | I usually just care about instrumentation and vocals. Don't really pay attention to lyrics very often. |

02.03.15 | Atmosphere and buildup can be good too |

02.03.15 | I treat the vocals like another instrument - they can be good, or unnecessary, or even able to drive a song entirely on their own. lyrics are probably the least important of the three to me although particularly poor ones can ruin songs for me. |
wtferrothorn
02.03.15 | Totally, Artuma. For example, vocals and lyrics usually aren't as important in Electronic, as how a nice voice can make up for almost everything in Pop/R&B if the instrumentation and lyrics aren't the best thing ever. |

02.03.15 | It depends on the genre, mainly what the instruments are doing and how it makes me feel. The presence of good lyrics have gotten a lot more important to me recently. |

02.03.15 | song structure. if a song is too predictable it starts to bore me to death. |
