| Experimental epics
As well as epic in proportion and album length (as in more than 60 minutes), the albums exemplify a plethora of genres as well as hit/miss experimentation. I'm just searching for more albums like what I'm listing... Yeah, epic may definitely be a hyperbole huh? | 1 | | The Beatles The Beatles
Basically the very first example; prog rock, pop rock, baroque pop, blues, heavy metal, "concrete music," ska, folk... | 2 | | The Clash Sandinista!
These guys basically proved that punk is the bacon of music with this album... I never knew punk would sound so good with rap tho | 3 | | Agoraphobic Nosebleed Altered States of America
It's grindcore so it is an exception to the long album running time rule... Also I'm thinking about this album as the badass double disc version with the latter half made up of crazy industrial/cybergrind remixes | 4 | | The Smashing Pumpkins Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness
C'mon, it's shoegazing, dream pop, hard rock, alt rock/metal, prog rock, grunge, indie rock, pop rock and over 2 hours. I had to include this. | |
