06.24.15 | There are so many more.. like a lot of punk and even some metal that I find inspiration from for my writing but the ones above are the most noticable influences |
FlyheadMetal
06.24.15 | I've been in a few bands man its cool |
FlyheadMetal
06.24.15 | yah my solo project is the most fun because I'm in charge, but I've done a deathcore band and a prog metal band and deathcore was so damn easy |

06.24.15 | i sometimes have the same trouble as you with wanting to write everything. but my bandmates know that and honestly if you give others a chance to have an input its often beneficial for the song, if not thats when you can say no lets do this. its still worth trying to see if they have any creative ideas that might enhance the song. |

06.24.15 | apart from that the best piece of advice i have ever had in terms of songwriting is to completely ignore whatever is "cool" at the time, because by the time you release your music chances are that craze will have passed and it will begin to be homogeneous for music listeners. don't look at other bands for inspiration look into your surroundings and your own emotions. that's what will give you the most honest representation of how you write a song. |
BMDrummer
06.24.15 | this sounds like a good band |

06.24.15 | Good advice.. all my previous bands I was in I played drums. Over the last 3 years I've gotten really serious about guitar and feel that it is a better direction for me. Haven't really had any previous input in my other bands other than the drum parts but now that I play guitar I just feel like once I start writing it all has to be my way. I hope I can remedy that way of thinking but then again maybe once I start jamming with others I will feel different.

06.24.15 | Your influences are quality but I bet you're an insufferable egotist wanker |
Funeralopolis
06.24.15 | I've only been in one band so far but it's pretty sweet because we all pretty much have the same vision for the kind of music we want to make. |
Ocean of Noise
06.24.15 | I think what this means is that you have yet to meet a musical match - someone who has as much creativity to offer to the band as you do. I think once you find somebody (or a group of people) that all have great ideas, you won't feel like such a control freak.
Keep trying, dude. There's always someone out there who shares your vision. |
Eggvander
06.24.15 | What about just exchanging ideas online and putting it all together that way? That's what a lot of people seem to do nowadays... but I understand it is not the same as an intimate jam session in someone's basement with a crate of beer and rocking out to your failed speed metal attempts of age 15 afterwards. |

06.24.15 | felt like i was reading about myself. totally get it. it took me two years to accept that i need bandmates in order to accomplish and do what i want to, and now that i have the people, i still write pretty much everything as of now. it is possible to get what you want here. find people who also work better alone and with people who are better/different at certain things than you are. it's easy to get bored with bandmates that don't inspire you to push yourself or bring anything appealing to the table |

06.25.15 | thanks for the insightful words Ocean of Noise and Eggvander it would be worth giving that a try I suppose but yeah just gotta keep meeting new people I guess. loveisamixtape i'm glad i'm not alone on that and glad you found some people who share your ambition.. gives me some hope |
