My Top 10 Albums of 2015 (So Far)

Top 10 of 2015 (So Far) in my opinion.
10Future
56 Nights

Future since Honest has grasped the attention of many, and starting with Monster from last year it is warranted. This 3 mixtape run from Monster to Beast Mode then to 56 Nights only shows how much of a force Future has become. And with 56 Nights being the best release out of the three mentioned there’s no wonder Future has found his way on this list.
9Panda Bear
Panda Bear Meets the Grim Reaper

From the title to the actual music, you can feel the loss of Noah in this project. And as his last sob or gift to his mother that has passed he delivers a great and memorable project that puts every feeling he had on a record.
8Donnie Trumpet and The Social Experiment
Surf

Sometimes you do something that blends genres and it comes out bland and results in a Raury project, other times you do it correctly and it comes out as initially intended creating a setting that resembles a walk on boardwalk or on the beach as Surf has done. Some refuse to acknowledge the transfusion was a success, but we’re here to tell you that the elements presented were done correctly and right on time.
7Miguel
Wildheart

Miguel coming into his own is surely an interesting sound. The influences are there, but it's a perfect blend creating something of his own with confidence and all the sex talk one can handle in a CD... Unless of course you want more than you could just hit that replay button and enjoy the dirty talking as if it was your first time. Let's exclude the confessing whilst masturbating part, unless you're into that too.
6Sufjan Stevens
Carrie and Lowell

Taking it back to the basics is something these days that will automatically get you a stamp of stagnant and uninteresting, especially someone with the capabilities of Sufjan that we have already seen. But, the mood of Carrie & Lowell and the message it brings with it gives the basics it brings a home and a perfect cozy home it is. This is exactly the type of project that was needed for the vision and devotion Sufjan was seeking, gratefully it worked out in all the right ways.
5Thundercat
The Beyond/Where The Giants Roam

Coming off of helping Kendrick Lamar with his album nobody was expecting or pressuring Thundercat to release a body of work just yet. Except, he doesn’t need our permission and in doing so courageously he’s released and put together one of the best body of works to date this year. This is the premier version of Surf, without all of the hoopla and extras yet still a better all around project.
4Rae Sremmurd
SremmLife

Many were assuming that Rae Sremmurd were one trick ponies in that they couldn’t be efficient in the area they were aiming for. Many had written them off thinking they couldn’t possibly surpass the magic they were able to bring together on No Flex Zone. Boy were those people wrong, not only were they able to one-up their own effort with No Type but they have proved that the area in which they aim, being fun and enjoyable music they excel and put together a body of work in which Mike Will’s comment about using your voice as an instrument completely makes sense.
3ASAP Rocky
At.Long.Last.A$AP

It’s exciting when an artist tries new things and it works out. The music leaves you to explore and discover new things within. This is how At.Long.Last.A$AP presents itself with out of this world production, a somewhat lo-fi performance from Joe Fox, and memorable features throughout it’s easy to call ALLA one of the top album releases of the year.
2Vince Staples
Summertime '06

Okay, I have to admit I'm a sucker for a story with such detailed and interesting imagery Vince puts together on Summertime '06. Plus, each and every song slaps (and not in the typical trap influenced way either) which can be nothing but a plus when if you're asking me my opinion on it.
1Kendrick Lamar
To Pimp a Butterfly

I guess this is a choice that could be seen from a mile away, but it’s a warranted number one on anyone’s list. An album that has a message and importance level that To Pimp a Butterfly present usually leaves you with a preachy tone or something that’s not interesting enough to grab your attention for more than half of the album. Yet, Kendrick Lamar was able to release an album that isn’t preachy and is actually enjoyable while delivering one of the most important messages in hip-hop we will see in a while. An accomplishment and album this special is something we will remember for years to come.
