10.12.15 | And all of these bands are late 90's/early 2000's? |
tacos n stuff
10.12.15 | Well, they were prominant around that time
Converge, Zao, and Today is the Day are all still together |
LeonidVilkov
10.12.15 | Were those the most prominent? What about compared to the ones I listed? |
tacos n stuff
10.12.15 | I believe the ones on the list are as well
I can't say for sure as I was not into this form of music in the 90s. Im only 20. I'm just going off the names I happen to see pop up the most (other than what's on the list cause that would redundant obviously) when people speak about this genre. |
LeonidVilkov
10.12.15 | I'm 20 as well. I'm trying to come to a consensus on what people think would be the top 10 metalcore bands of said time. There are definitely a lot of answers. I've been listening to this music for a few years now and I'm always discovering new bands. Just recently I discovered Morning Again, Culture, and Strongarm |

CaimanJesus
10.12.15 | how early |
Mort.
10.12.15 | "Dillinger (I consider them more mathcore, but if the community speaks otherwise...)"
the idea that mathcore is a distinct genre from metalcore is ridiculous so yeah theyre metalcore |
DanielNightLewis
10.12.15 | Here's a little list-ette of stuff I recommend all the time in metalcore threads. Each band offers something a little different so they're all worth checking out. Mostly on the more discordant end of the spectrum but that's just how I roll
Destroyer Destroyer
Drowningman
Eden Maine
Beecher
Cry Debris
Scarlet
Curl Up & Die
Burnt By The Sun
Starkweather
Red Roses For A Blue Lady
The End
Blood Has Been Shed |
Mort.
10.12.15 | i forgot Not Waving But Drowning |
LeonidVilkov
10.12.15 | Added Shai Hulud and Converge and changed Hopesfall from No Wings To Speak Of to The Satellite Years. Debating on adding Misery Signals and Botch. I will not add Cave In, Coalesce, or Dillinger. I plan to stay away from bands on Relapse Records and I think Cave In's best release is Antenna so I ruled out their first LP |
iReturnToDust
10.12.15 | asking alexandria |
Cygnatti
10.12.15 | you should probs stop |
eatdirtfartdust12
10.13.15 | Undying |
LeonidVilkov
10.13.15 | Asking Alexandria? Lol wtf? They're not even hardcore and they were formed in 2008 AND they're on Sumerian Records. Sorry I know you're trolling me, but I just can't stand that stuff |
KILL
10.13.15 | worst period for metal ever made |
Mystletainn
10.13.15 | check Breach and Catharsis (US)
ya metalcore isn't very good |
LeonidVilkov
10.14.15 | I'm not very fond of bands on Relapse Records. I mostly dig Trustkill, Ferret, and Good Life. Equal Vision and Victory are ok too |
