and then it's technically 1970, but it just missed the 60s by a couple months, so - Soft Machine - Third |
ArsMoriendi
11.03.15 | Recs from like 1970/1971 are okay as long as they're like super reminiscent of the 1960s since there's obviously going to be some spillover in terms of sound.
Wow you guys rec'd a shitton of albums, going to have to do some research to decide which of these I'm actually going to check... though I know a couple on here I'm definitely going to avoid (*cough* The Grateful Dead *cough*) |

ArsMoriendi
11.03.15 | "what do you think of Other Voices, not as bad as you would think or the Ray solo albums"
I haven't checked the non-Morrison Doors albums due to a complete lack of interest in them. I'm sure Other Voices is an okay album, but it seems kind of like a waste of time to check, like Velvet Underground's Squeeze or something. |
wham49
11.03.15 | I saw them and couldn't pass them up, but if you have the chance, give them a listen, very different, especially Other voices, remember Robbie was a great writer as well |

11.03.15 | "Recs from like 1970/1971 are okay as long as they're like super reminiscent of the 1960s since there's obviously going to be some spillover in terms of sound. "

Frippertronics
11.03.15 | check mine first because why not |
ArsMoriendi
11.03.15 | "Check mine because I was kind enough to rec just one."
Oddly enough that's a good point XD rec'ing 15 albums at once seems almost counter-productive (I mean Potsy can't even handle 60 recs at once like how would I do it?), but honestly it's not really what I'm looking for I wanted like poppy 60s psych not droney 60s jazz...
"check mine first because why not"
Well there was initially over 60 recs and I've rounded it down to 21 so far and only 2/6 of your choices remain, but if makes you feel any better at least 1 will probably make the final cut haha :P |
SharkTooth
11.03.15 | check ma Funkadelic rec it's trippy as fuck |

MrSirLordGentleman
11.03.15 | Ars is probably one of the very few users that's always willing to check new stuff though, if you'll rec something as AMM you might as well rec Cromagnon lol |
SharkTooth
11.03.15 | I get where Ars is coming from, at certain times you just wanna jam certain sounds, I think he would dig your rec Sach, it's just that now he's not in the right mindset |
Frippertronics
11.03.15 | willing but stubborn as fuck i honestly doubt he'll even touch Silver Apples or Cromagnon though I'd like to see what he thinks of of them both. |

Frippertronics
11.03.15 | Silver Apples is revolutionary electronic psych my man, he's gotta listen to it (plus if he gives a shit about the third Portishead album, which took a lot from Silver Apples, he's ought to hear it) |
MrSirLordGentleman
11.03.15 | Yeah maybe decent wasn't the correct word, I can see the talent on it but definitely not my thing |
ArsMoriendi
11.03.15 | "willing but stubborn as fuck i honestly doubt he'll even touch Silver Apples or Cromagnon though I'd like to see what he thinks of of them both."
Well you're half wrong. Silver Apples made the final cut:
Dr. John - Gris-Gris
Love - Forever Changes
Silver Apples - Silver Apples
Red Krayola - The Parable of Arable Land
Van Dyke Parks - Song Cycle
The United States of America - s/t
I'll be getting to at least half of these before the end of 2015^ (I also ordered them from most anticipated to least anticipated haha)
I'll also get to the Funkadelic album eventually since I want to check all of p-funk, but not now. |
