0GuyMan0 11.18.15	I strayed from obvious choices like Deftones (above and beyond nu metal) and Linkin Park (Hybrid Theory is a fucking masterpiece and it doesn't matter if you like rock music or not) just to get some opinions on some of these that nobody ever talks about. Glad to see some people are into some of these choices.

0GuyMan0 11.18.15	That is one of the cool things about nu-metal to me. It is so varied. The difference between say hed PE and Deftones is fucking mind boggling, but both are nu-metal. When people speak negatively about it, they are typically referring to the limp bizkit / pod / hed pe style rap-rock with JNCOs. If ONLY that is nu-metal then not a single one of these albums fits. But all those records were part of that ozzfest 97 - 2002 scene. To me, Nu-metal isn't derogatory. But there was some trash out there man.

Flugmorph 11.18.15	Never really listened to nu metal until recently so since it wasnt my school jam for which i should be ashamed off to have listened to, i now can look back at some great bands that existed in that early scene and enjoy myself quite well
0GuyMan0 11.18.15	I just think the best artists transcended the genre. Nonpoint with their speed and high energy, powerful charismatic voicalist, Taproot with super-heaviness and Richard's weird nasally croon, 36 with their metalcore edge, Mudvayne with their avant-garde progginess etc. There is great stuff in there, like I always say. Even the dumbest bands have some good songs. If you ignore the lyrics, Nookie is a pretty great song. Korn has at least one jam on their first four albums. Staind's dysfunction album has "Just Go" and "Mudshovel".

Brabiz 03.12.17	Never heard 1 until i saw this list. Just hit track 5 and i'm seriously in love. I love this type of nu metal. Genuinely well written and unique while also maintinaing that super dated early 2000's sound. Super nostalgic.

0GuyMan0 03.12.17	Pulse Ultra is so fucking good. Hotwire was hit and miss, but that album has three solid bangers. They were completely unknown (....well yeah they've always been completely unknown) but the pit when they played "Invisible" at Ozzfest '03 was insane. And you wouldn't think it, from hearing them. Their vocalist just had this insane energy. For real though, lets talk about Pulse some more. This is the most interaction I've ever had in my life regarding that album. Then you guys can listen to 9 and 10. Seriously legit.

Storm In A Teacup 03.12.17	2, 12, 14, 15, and 16 are all great. I guess I should give all the other stuff a chance too! Bloodsimple I actually remember a single from them about 15 years ago that was fucking awesome. The guy has a rather guttural scream if I remember correctly. Thanks for the recs
chinesewhispers 03.12.17	I think about half the songs on that album are grade-A alt rock, but the other half are kind of forgettable. Apparently they were in the process of recording their second album when they broke up, they played a shitton of new songs at their last show
0GuyMan0 03.12.17	Bloodsimple's vocalist is from Vision of Disorder. That album has five legit fucking bangers. I strongly recommend 1 / 9 / 10. If you need specific tracks - "Put it off" / "I'm a Cloud" / "Mucus Shifters", respectively.
Storm In A Teacup 03.12.17	I read that the guitarist is from Vision of Disorder too! Gotta check them out because they were from that New York era of heavy music which I love a lot of what came from that scene. Best Hardcore is always East Coast hardcore.

0GuyMan0 03.12.17	I always dug Will Haven more than VoD, but loved VoD's vocals so much. Also, the singer in Apex Theory started System of a Down with Serj when they were in high school. Fun little tidbit. 'BoySetsFire' - you know, BoyHitsCar always got confused with that band when talking to people back then, but I never was able to listen to them. I'll jam them later.

zaruyache 03.18.18	The vocals follow along the rhythms similar to nu metal, but are more aggressive and feel like an extreme metal-ation of nu metal, the guitars are obvsly very rhythmic and have that same, very particular start-stop style to them. It like to pretend it was a conscious reaction to and criticism of the nu movement, in a "nana nana we can do the same thing better" sort of way.
