Merril Hoge on ESPN said that the discipline issues aren't on the couch but on the players. While I agree that the players have to take responsibility for their actions, it all starts at the top. Sowing
01.18.16 | No denying that, and I'm damn proud of this season (as jubilant as I've been since the '03 Superbowl run, tbh). I just know that kind of sloppy 2nd half play won't hold up against any of the 3 other remaining opponents. Arizona is on deck, and their receiving group makes Seattle's look like JV. I don't care if we go up 48-0, we still need to do more than runs up the middle and soft zone defense in the second half. |

dbizzles
01.19.16 | I feel like the NFC takes it all, especially if Carolina gets in. Their D will shut down either AFC teams' offense and neither of those teams have a defense (as of late) to counter the running attack of Carolina. I'm rooting for AZ, and if they get in, I still feel like their offense is too good for NE or DEN to keep up and their defense is solid enough to keep both teams out of the end zone for most of the game. Ramble, ramble, ramble... |

01.19.16 | who do i put money on this week folks? I'm kinda feeling broncos over NE for some reason |
JWT155
01.19.16 | I think you have to proclaim him the best. Montana had Jerry Rice, Bradshaw had Stallworth and Lynn Swann, Aikman had Michael Irvin, Manning has had Marvin Harrison and Regie Waynes... with the guys he's played with, Brady has to be near the top and he has the most important categories sealed up, Super Bowl Appearances and wins. |

DominionMM1

01.19.16 | it is pretty impressive but I think at the same time they're dirty scoundrels and I'm tired of them |
DominionMM1
01.19.16 | "Montana had Jerry Rice"
to be fair the 49ers won 2 Super Bowls (and had the greatest single season team in NFL history imo) before Rice got there |
TheSpaceMan
01.20.16 | you guys are giving Brady way too much credit
one of the greatest QBs, for sure. definitive best? my ass. Just cause NE makes it to the championship game 3/5 of the time does not have a proportional tie to how much better he is then other qbs. NE's offense just caters to his every weakness superbly. his recievers have complimented his skills like peanut butter and jelly, plus his offensive line is clearly trained to take a fucking bullet for the guy. no offense to the fans, but getting into the playoffs for an AFC isnt as hard as it should be in recent years. theres a reason the NFC has the most superbowl rings |
Calc
01.20.16 | such much brady bashing and all because he's good. |
JWT155
01.20.16 | NFC better than the AFC in recent years? For the past decade Manning, Roethlisberger and Brady teams have overwhelmingly dominated the playoff picture. Apart from Russell Wilson and Eli Manning there has been no consistent contender from the NFC. |
DominionMM1
01.20.16 | yeah because those guys' teams get to play the bills, dolphins, jags, titans, browns, raiders and chargers twice a year. not that there aren't consistently bad teams in the nfc, but the afc is and has been a much more top-heavy conference. |
JWT155
01.20.16 | You could just as easilly argue the NFC is just a plethora of mediocrity can you not? Look at how abysmal the NFC East has been the past few seasons. The Packers have just as easily won their division 5 of the past 6 seasons, the NFC South has been all over the place and the NFC West could arguably be touted the most competitive division even though the Rams and Niners have had terrible stretches the past couple of seasons.
In the AFC the Jets have been able to compete with the Pats for the AFC East, the AFC North has always been a toss up between the Ravens, Steelers and Bengals, the AFC West has seen every team except the Raiders be competitive in the past 5 seasons which leaves the AFC South which may be the weakest division in Football. That being said I see much more consistency and quality in the AFC than the NFC.
I don't buy for 1 second the argument that the NFC is a better Conference. |
JWT155
01.20.16 | Furthermore, I don't think it helps the NFC that 2 of their top tier QB's/teams of the past decade (Rodgers/Brees) have only each found their way to the Super Bowl just once. |
DominionMM1
01.20.16 | that's nice that you don't buy it but that doesn't mean it's not true. why just this year the afc went 29-35 against the nfc. |
claygurnz
01.20.16 | The AFC has the trashest teams tbh. And lol at the Jets 'competing' against the Patriots in the AFC east. |
Hawks
01.20.16 | Who honestly gives a fuck? If my team isn't winning it all then I don't give two shits about who ends up winning as long as it's an entertaining game.
Except the Patriots, fuck them. |
JWT155
01.20.16 | 6 game differential isn't abysmal. When comparing 2 basketball squads do you see who's better by comparing their bench players or their starters? Sure the AFC's bench may have some terrible guys but the top 5 along with the top subs for the AFC for the most part destroys the NFC, especially if you expand the picture to consistency over the past say 3-5 seasons. I just think it's common sense when you're comparing 2 things you weigh the top half of quality/talent over the bottom half. I like to argue sports Hawks, come at me bro! |
DominionMM1
01.20.16 | afc is 148-171-1 against the nfc over the last 5 seasons. top to bottom, the nfc is and has been the better conference. |
dbizzles
01.20.16 | How much weight does that really hold though? We still get equal numbers of divisional teams in the playoffs. It is what happens afterward that really counts. |
dbizzles
01.20.16 | But, I guess the NFC has won 3 out of the last five. I don't know. |

evilford
01.28.16 | I think Marshawn Lynch should be stripped of "Beast Mode" and have it instead placed on Cam Newton, what a fucking stud
I hope it's a good game but I'd like to see the panthers win |
Devastator
01.28.16 | Cam is a straight up monster. |
evilford
01.28.16 | he has to be the most dangerous player in the league, idk who else could possibly be more dangerous than him |
Devastator
01.28.16 | Offensively no one. Drop the defense in coverage and he'll take off running and gash you. Blitz him and he can throw a bullet to Olsen or hell he can elude the defense and run also! |
evilford
01.28.16 | I think his effectiveness as a passer is what makes him such a great player. typically, quarterbacks that are that mobile, are not necessarily as good of a passer as he is, it's just not a skill set that anybody should have but he does. when you have QBs who are that dangerous on their feet, defensively you have to have at least one guy spying the QB and keep people facing the pocket so they can see if the QB takes off, but if they dedicate the same kind of resources to guarding Newton as they did to someone say like Michael Vick, he'll just completely torch them.
and they've done a great job at developing him as a great all-around player and leader, he seems like an honest, hard-working fellow who just loves playing the game of football, idk how someone could not like him. |
evilford
01.28.16 | unless their team is a Panthers rival heh |
Devastator
01.28.16 | I've never heard a bad thing about him other than that shit that went on at Auburn that involved his dad which I even don't remember the details about it honestly. But I disregard that since illegal stuff happens in college football all the time in the shadows.
I'll be honest and say that when he came to the league I didn't like him because of his cocky attitude but in recent years seeing other players like Johnny Shithead and RG 3 and out come in with all this hype and then stir up controversy without doing anything worthwhile made me realize that Newton was actually pretty great. |
evilford
01.28.16 | I don't recall that period really, my memory is fucked up so I could have known that at some point |
Devastator
01.28.16 | It was something about his dad possibly taking money from Mississippi State to talk to Newton during his recruitment period or something. So nothing that doesn't already happen in CFB. |
evilford
01.28.16 | yeah, you can't really blame the players for that, it's the school's fault for putting them in that position. what person who isn't rich would turn down money for that kind of thing? |
Devastator
01.28.16 | It's true, if you agree to commit to a school, football is all you do besides classes. Between the season, post season weight training, and spring practices you have no way of getting money outside of your parents. So you can't blame them for accepting money. |
