02.17.16 | Yeah, I've loved most of Kanye's work. Graduation being his lowest for me. Pablo's been fluctuating for me. I used to be a 4, now it's a 3 but might up it to 3.5 |
SharkTooth
02.17.16 | I guess you can go with Potsy's lists for good shit

http://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?memberid=1042215&listid=160687
also if you're looking for something specific you should shoutbox the guy himself he knows a ton of music(and especially hip-hop) and should be able to sort you with what you need |
Nazzadan
02.17.16 | Uh, 36 Chambers?
Idk I'm bad at rap |
JigglyPDiddy
02.18.16 | 36 Chambers is tight.
and thanks, SharkTooth! Really nice lists. |
dbizzles
02.18.16 | Deltron 3030 - I'm not a giant hip-hop fan, but I love how different the content of the album is to most hip-hop. |
LotusFlower
02.18.16 | First would be sorting Sputnik and RYM's all time lists for the hip hop genre for the essential junk, branch out from there.
Try out different styles of rap whether it be trap rap or jazzier stuff and seeing which style you list most and expand from there. For personal recs I always push Busdriver just because I love him a lot. Though he is weirder than a lot of artists. Check out his collab with Aesop Rock and Danny Brown, since you seem to dig Danny Brown an awful lot. |
FadedSun
02.18.16 | Cunninglynguists - A Piece of Strange |

02.18.16 | I love Dan The Automator, dbizzles. That album rocks my socks.
And thanks, CL0VER~ yeah, Danny Brown rips hard |
dbizzles
02.18.16 | Oh, yeah, and if you haven't already, check out Sour Soul by Ghostface and BADBADNOTGOOD. Danny Brown feature in one song, too. |
Anthracks
02.18.16 | Just listen to things and if you don't like what you hear don't listen to it again. |
ComeToDaddy
02.18.16 | Cunninglynguists - A Piece of Strange [2]
Common - Be
The Roots - Things Fall Apart
Blackalicious - Blazing Arrow
Gang Starr - All of the 90s albums tbh
idk if you want to branch into some different stuff:
Lil Ugly Mane - MISTA THUG ISOLATION
Nujabes - Metaphorical Music if you feelin jazzy hip-hop
Sadistik - Flowers For My Father if you're into that sadboy stuff
Ghostface Killah - Twelve Reasons To Die for some Tarantino shit |
Mongi123
02.18.16 | I've tried a couple classics, but no matter how hard I try it just doesn't fit me. Hip hop is such an acquired taste, but I respect it. |

02.18.16 | Mongi, my main babe. |

02.18.16 | Pretty much what Anthracks said. I'm still kinda going through this phase where I'm checking out a bunch of the high-rated albums on here to see what I like and what I don't. In the process of discovering some hip-hop artists that I really like (cLOUDDEAD, Deltron 3030, DJ Shadow, Outkast) I listened to some that I was just like, "Eh, that was kinda cool, but I don't *love* it" (Atmosphere, Blackalicious, Cunninlynguists). There's no real trick to getting into the genre like there is with, say, screamed vocals. |
RunOfTheMill
02.18.16 | A friend of mine lent me some hip hop records a few months ago and I liked most of them (wasn't big on hip hop before that). It's a good mix of old school and new stuff, chill and more energetic.
Souls of Mischief - '93 til Infinity
Shad - Flying Colours
Fashawn - Boy Meets World
M.O.P. - Warriorz
Sean Price - Mic Tyson
Mos Def and Talib Kweli - Black Star
Madvillain - Madvillainy
Enjoy :] |
Mongi123
02.18.16 | I've tried Illmatic, Black On Both Sides, a good portion of To Pimp A Butterfly thanks to my friends, Reasonable Doubt. Maybe those are bad starting points, but nonetheless they were just in one ear and out the other. Didn't hate it but it's just kinda whatever. |
Hep Kat
