04.05.16 | Great list, I'd add a few choice Eluveitie albums, when they get it right those guys nail it. Origins is a good example. |

Alastor
04.05.16 | I never enjoyed the old Skyclad albums. Horrid vocals. |

04.05.16 | The subgenre does get a bad rap, so much so that I haven't given it much of a chance. I really like it in old Opeth albums for example when they go into passages that I would describe as folk like but good vocals are important to me too. Who would you rec me and why? |
DungeonBoy
04.05.16 | Nice to see Empyrium, especially this album, since it's rarely mentioned here and most certainly contains some very folky black metal.
For fun, upbeat folk, I can't recommend Equilibrium - Sagas enough. One of the most fun folk metal albums I've ever heard. |

04.05.16 | I've been putting more and more folk into my music lately. It doesn't quite qualify as folk metal but you might enjoy it if you're into Moonsorrow/Windir. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8c6QrBvSIA |

Depends what you consider "good vocals"
Orphaned Land - Mabool (Basically Jewish Opeth)
Primordial - To The Nameless Dead
Kauan - Pirut + Sorni Nai

04.05.16 | Sevengill your music is cool man! You got a Soundcloud page or anything or just YouTube? |
Shemson
04.05.16 | Thanks Scream man I'll check it! I dunno I found a lot of stuff my friends listened to that were considered folky had really bad vocals. Like gruff hairy men that can't hold a tune properly. |
manosg
04.05.16 | Amorphis - Tales From the Thousand Lakes has a fair amount of folk influences from Finland and is one of the most atmospheric albums out there.
Villagers of Ioannina City - Riza is also a very interesting blend of stoner and Greek folk even though the Greek lyrics may deter some listeners. |

04.05.16 | Thanks! Yeah it's on soundcloud, bandcamp, facebook, etc. https://www.facebook.com/taravanamusic |

In that case you may or may not dig Primordial. They sort of do that style but something about the way they do it is just /different/ from your typical folk m/ band |

04.05.16 | I was tempted to make a much longer list but these five albums are just so solid and define everything I love about folk metal.
Other recommended artists are Primordial, Saor, Panopticon, Orphaned Land, Aquilus, Wilderun and just for fun, Equilibrium (Sagas, Turis Fratyr and Erdentempel are a blast) |

04.05.16 | If anyone's interested, Impureza combine metal with flamenco music.
