| THEY'RE HERE, UNDER THE FLOOR BOARDS
An assortment of music I enjoy ranging from underground to practically non-existent, but it's generally just albums with only a few ratings that could use more love. All discovered via recommendations, my own exploration, and straight up dumb luck. Part I of a series initially created on RYM | 1 | | Chaos Echoes Tone of Things to Come
If Swans made black metal tinged death doom, it would sound like this album | 2 | | Blood Incantation Interdimensional Extinction
Solid OSDM revivalism. They've picked up lots of recognition lately especially with their debut album. | 3 | | Spectral Voice Necrotic Doom
Shares members with Blood Incantation. Murky death-doom | 4 | | Graal Sigullum Naturae
Avant garde atmo bm, it's weird black metal in the way Ved Buens Ende is weird, but it's still very original. | 5 | | For Your Consideration Death Bed
Spooky and melancholic drone/dark ambient with some sort of electronic music mixed in, I don't really know much about beat oriented electronic music | 6 | | Black Harvest Abject
Gorguts inspired melo death | 7 | | Dismal Insanity Thoughts of Legacy
Avant garde prog death metal, contains some odd dungeon synth styled keyboards/synths and some very Ved Buens Ende styled clean vocals mixed in. I have only listened to one song off of this and couldn't find a download for the rest of it, I ordered the cassette almost 3 months ago and have yet to see it. | 8 | | Purulence Purulence/Amaymon Split
Purulence is a side project of the legendary Gorguts guitar wizard Steeve Hurdle, it's nothing too spectacular but it's some decent enough OSDM and fans of Steeve or Gorguts should def check it (more so for completionists) | 9 | | Serdce Timelessness
Fans of the label Blood Music will prob know this one, pretty decent mix of prog rock, prog metal, death metal, and some weird ass xylophone sounding thing. | 10 | | Yasuhito Fujinami Abyss
Yasuhito Fujinami is an ambient/drone/noise artist from Japan. This particular release is drone-doom. I have yet to dive into his cog but I enjoy this release | 11 | | 5/5/2000 Fin
Ambient/drone side project from Cattle Decapitation front man Travis Ryan, I picked this up on CD at a Cattle Decap show, pretty solid stuff | 12 | | Efferat The Enlightenment
Dense mix of drone metal, noise, traditional Tibetan music, with some black metal drowning beneath the wall of sound. It has some weird bells and chanting mixed in which I assume is the trad Tibetan music shining through the haze. | 13 | | Wormlust The Feral Wisdom
Dark ambient, atmo black metal, tons of psychedelic shit this album sounds just like the cover. For fans of weird bm | 14 | | ANCST In Turmoil
A pummeling mix of black metal, dark ambient, and crust punk | 15 | | Absolute Hell Absolute Hell
Wall noise. Not a big fan of the genre, still a major scrub in it but I dig this | 16 | | Cowards (FR) Shooting Blanks and Pills
Black sludge metal, their debut is ok but I think this is better | |

08.31.16 | 13 is sweet and is further evidence of how great Iceland's bm is. | PunchedPeach72
08.31.16 | A lot of the Icelandic bm I've listened to has just been Deathspell Omega worship but the feral wisdom is definitely one of my favorites in that scene | ScuroFantasma
08.31.16 | What have you jammed? | AlexKzillion
09.01.16 | One of my favorite episodes. | ZippaThaRippa
09.01.16 | ooh girl there's a lot here worth checking out | Negator
09.01.16 | elite list gj | climactic
09.01.16 | 13 sounds sweet | tacos n stuff
09.01.16 | 16 is dope, the whole label is dope | Spec
09.01.16 | honestly thought you were quoting an oceans ate alaska song | PunchedPeach72
09.07.16 | What have you jammed?
damb I aint checked this list for awhile but off the top of my head I recall Nadra, Misthyrming (I like them but really it boils down to DsO worship), Abominor, and maybe Sinmara but I havent checked that in awhile. A lot of the DsO worship to me is very uninteresting but Misthryming at least mixes some dark ambient in and the album feels like they have an immature grasp on the style so far but I think they'll refine it and do better things in the future | zaruyache
09.07.16 | are you feelin it now Mister Krabs | PunchedPeach72
09.07.16 | The new thing is to make technical and dissonant bm that tries to be menacing like DsO but I have yet to hear a band that pulls it off very well like Dodecahedron, Misthryming almost has it but Dodec blows them out of the water | adr
09.07.16 | might check 4, 9 looks awful tho. | Keyblade
09.07.16 | yea 4 looks cool | zaruyache
09.07.16 | I wouldn't compare Misthryming to DSO at all. They're menacing, sure, but otherwise they're not like DSO at all imo. | PunchedPeach72
09.07.16 | They play the same style of riffs mixed with more trem based atmo bm riffs like the DsO atmo bm material | PunchedPeach72
09.07.16 | might check 4, 9 looks awful tho.
idrc about prog but I think that 9 is pretty decent, kinda boring and predictable prawg shit here and there but I think it has plenty of redeemable moments. And 4 is too siq | ScuroFantasma
09.07.16 | Nadra rule, Misthyrming are cool too. Check out Carpe Noctem - s/t, one of my favourite BM albums full stop. |
