| Underappreciated Albums/Artists
You ever have an album or an artist that you love, but it doesn't get the love that it deserves? Here's a list of albums that fit that category for me, feel free to share your picks | 1 | | Dream On Dreamer Loveless
Really good mix of post-hardcore and metalcore, with phenomenal cleans from Zach Britt as well as technical guitar work | 2 | | Young Lions Blue Isla
Zach Britt once again! However, this is his band that is focused on the alternative rock approach, and on this album his use of a more atmospheric approach really nails it. Excellent drum and bass work on this | 3 | | Ghost Atlas Gold Soul Coma
Another alt rock entry, however this has more bite. Fronted by Jesse Cash, more known for his role as lead guitarist and clean vocalist in progressive metal band Erra, this album mixes aggression and passion incredibly well. Tracks like Elixer of Life really grasp you by the throat, while tracks like Mood Ring and Demons hit your heart strings. Very good vocal range | 4 | | Crystal Lake The Sign
Japanese metalcore with above average guitar playing. This album at times sounds like Architects had a baby, specifically with the guitar work as seen in the breakdown for 'Prometheus'. Strong vocals in the form of a mid yell, as well as lows | 5 | | Ascariasis Ocean Of Colour
Basically a much heavier Born of Osiris, with better guitar work (minus The Discovery) and less electronic and keyboard elements. Vocals are definitely the weakest link here, but they do their job decently enough | 6 | | Novelists Souvenirs
Progressive metal from France, with the general consensus of great instrumental work and subpar vocal work. I for one am a fan of the vocals, but I acknowledge that they are the weak link here. | 7 | | Pridelands Natives
More progressive metal, but this time from the wonderful people in Australia! Solid musicianship backed up by powerful vocals, for fans of Discoveries era Northlane | 8 | | Scary Kids Scaring Kids Scary Kids Scaring Kids
Emo as fuck yo. Excellent guitar work, excellent vocals from Tyson (both screamed and sung), and overall an excellent album. Shame that there never was a third album, and RIP Tyson | 9 | | Shokran Supreme Truth
Progressive metal (I like the genre okay?) from Russia, with the style of Egyptian music. If you like flashy guitar work then you'll love this | 10 | | Silent Screams When It Rains
10 is a nice number, so here's more metalcore. Very standard to be honest, but it's standard done well. Powerful lows from the unclean vocalist, as well as some of the best cleans I've heard from the genre coming from their bassist. | |

If you like underrated emo/metalcore from bands in that scene, check From First to Last. Heroine's worth a listen for sure, though Throne to the Wolves is their masterstroke. | ArtBox
10.19.16 | "Props for 8." [2] All those songs from the first SKSK album on Flash Flash Revolution. Memories.
Might have to check a couple of these out. | SteakByrnes

10.19.16 | Scary Kids Scaring Kids was great, that album's only downside is the length | dixoncocks

Another really good deathcore band that doesn't get enough love is Shadow of the Colossus. | DarkSideOfLucca
10.19.16 | The Beatles. Definitely underrated. | MarsKid
10.19.16 | Abbey Road undoubtedly the sleeper hit of 1969. | SteakByrnes
10.19.16 | Shadow of the Colossus is killer, both the band and the game haha | AmericnZero02
10.19.16 | SKSK were my boys back in the day. They recorded their third album all they way up until the vocals began being tracked. We were so close to getting it! RIP Tyson; still pretty sad. The week before he died I had a dream about seeing them live at a reunion show.
Young Lions are great. I love both of those guys' records. I guess I'll have to check back into Dream On Dreamer. | SteakByrnes
10.19.16 | Definitely check out Dream On Dreamer's newer stuff, because everything since Loveless has been great.
Young Lions are fantastic, they know how to do alt rock right | granitenotebook
10.19.16 | http://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?memberid=1049052&listid=167178 this list | AmericnZero02

10.19.16 | 1 is so trash | SteakByrnes
10.19.16 | @pjquinones That's unfortunate to hear, why do you say that? | pjquinones747
10.19.16 | Bland bland bland. I tried to get into this band a few times and it's dreadfully boring. If you want some hype-ass metalcore you need some This or the Apocalypse and Sylosis in your life, mate.
3 is decent though | SteakByrnes
10.19.16 | This or the Apocalypse is great, I love the Monuments and Dead Years albums. Their guitar work is insane | pjquinones747
10.19.16 | Good start my dude. Ever spend a lot of time listening to Between the Buried and Me and Opeth? Because that's some essential progressive metal, ERRA and BOO and whatnot are considered prog at all by a very slim margin. | JeetJeet
10.19.16 | 9 and 10 sound very interesting | SteakByrnes
10.19.16 | I'm not the biggest fan of Opeth to be honest, but I like their instrumentals. Between the Buried and Me is very good, I love The Parallax II, those are a group a dudes who know how to play their instruments haha.
Is Erra really not considered progressive metal? I've always considered them part of the genre, and if not in the entire definition of the genre, they at least have elements of progressive metal | SteakByrnes
10.19.16 | @JeetJeet Check them out man, Shokran has phenomenal instrumental work. Silent Screams like I said utilizes some of the best cleans I've heard in the genre | JohnnyoftheWell
