However, I haven't listened to most of these, so i can't argue with you. Pearl Jam is a great pic. Same with the Smiths tbh. I love early Sabbath though :)

These are all mainstream bands that have tees at family clothing stores, consistent radio play, and stadium shows if they're still touring. It should be agreed upon most stuff of this nature is overrated due to the outside influence that propelled those bands to where they are. Personally, I like some of these bands but understand the overrated comment. It's not hard to argue that if Black Sabbath or AC/DC went up against their contemporaries they'd lose to an unbiased listener. All these picks are highly influential and I think that's when most people stop being objective. Nostalgia is incredibly powerful.

Clearly, you guys like some of these bands which results in your inability to be objective or unbiased. Some people who led incredibly sheltered lives who have zero experience associated with these bands might prefer the sound of modern rock/metal bands. It's not a hard concept to grasp.
wham49 01.25.17	considering I have heard many new bands and think they are not only boring, but don't even come close to the sound, song writing skills, forward thinking, and changes that BS has gone through, just in the Ozzy years of 69-79. using a flute or,doom themed horror movies, was so ahead of their time, that it seems common place now, but when it was happening, was so state of the art it is still mind blowing, nothing that indie rock or post hardcore grindcore black metal or whatever adjectives you put infront of it in the past 15 or so years could ever duplicate with the power and pure musical integrity of BS, some of the others are at least slightly debatable, but saying AC/DC would not be liked now is a pretty ridiculous statement, and I do not really even like them , but over rated they are not.
