So many rhythms and melodies...

A fruitful list of discoveries I've made this beautiful and strange year. Some current, and others are dusty classics recently unearthed. You are never alone in the way your records spin. All of our needles sip the same resonance from that endless spinning wax. Cry your wet spring creek of tears to flow into your brother's lake, where he and I catch fish, the product of all our grief and joy and drunkenness and vigor. We are in motion yet. More Scared Of You Than You Are Of Me

i just want you to love me. this is shrinking life into bite sized and digestible problems that are no less overwhelming in their presence. this record is remembering your history and holding it tight to your chest to grow stronger.

Digging a Tunnel

Very classy swedish R&B good for late night drives and sitting on rooftops watching stars, hoping you don't catch an accidental nip-slip.
3 Big Thief
Capacity

not out yet but I can tell it will kick all midwestern ass
4Sinai Vessel
Brokenlegged
5bansheebeat
Techo Deluxe

My girlfriend loves all his releases and always asks if he's playing any festivals and I have to tell her that he's just a cybermusic nerd like me. (:
6Los Campesinos!
Sick Scenes

love the drum work, the synth work, the absolutely LUSH production, the unrelentingly sweet and viral hooks and harmonies. the reverby solo halfway through "Got Stendah's" might be my favorite musical moment of the year.
7Do Make Say Think
Stubborn Persistent Illusions
8Future Islands
The Far Field

Definitely expanding on the sound they laid out on Singles but bringing back elements of the "tear yr hear out" sounds that we all know and love. no matter what happens it's always gonna be fun to dance like Sam Herring in the mirror.
9Hauschka
What If

This is generally not my style and maybe it was very late, maybe I was highly intoxicated when I first listened, regardless, this album gave my little soul a shake at 3 am. i haven't been this enthralled with an "ambient" album since Stars of the Lid.
10Kendrick Lamar
DAMN.

obviously. so stoked he ditched the funk influence a bit. I think he pushes the envelope best by remaining somewhat inside the conventional box.
11Mac DeMarco
This Old Dog

The man himself is tim&eric tier comedy gold. Just watch "the backer". classic. Never been big on his music bit this one is summery shimmery spacey and a little more passionate. 1 slice of pie for Mac.
12The Menzingers
After The Party

Talk about nostalgic...... Jeeeeeessssus. This was my first great record of the year, makes me feel like I live on the wrong coast.
13P.O.S
Chill, Dummy

Stef is one of the best lyricists/songwriters in the hip hop realm and waaaaay underrated. The Bon Iver, Busdriver, Kathleen Hanna and Astronautalis features don't hurt. (:
14Remo Drive
Greatest Hits

Just fuckin fun. These kids are like 3 years younger than me which is both a massive embarassmwnr and huge encouragement.
15Sorority Noise
You're Not As ____ As You Think

We shouldn't feel so lost so early in this year but it's driving me outdoors to collect leaves that fell last year
I can't tell you how hurt I am. I can't stand to leave my room until I do.
16Sylvan Esso
What Now

Sounds just like the rainbow we wanted it to be.
17BONES
UNRENDERED

such fire compared to his last few tapes. unadulterated fire from the graveyard
#SESH
18Brian Eno
Another Green World

The rest of these are old recs. I've discovered this year.

singer of Typhoon's gorgeous solo effort.

Quickly becoming one of my favorite all time albums. Slow, burning, searing grower of an album
