Divaman 05.06.17	Also picked up the Broadway soundtrack album for "Come From Away", which I suspect will win the TONY this year for best musical. Unfortunately, I couldn't add it to the data base because the stupid servers are frozen again.

Space Jester 05.06.17	The sticker at the top comes off easy if you detach the hinges on the case and peel the sticker off that way. Some of them still leave residue though

Satellite2 05.06.17	used to collect CDs like crazy, but it doesn't make any sense to me in 2017. it's just a plastic disc containing mp3s that i could get for free online. if i'm gonna "support the artist, maaaan" i go with vinyl. but to each their own. buy a bottle of goo-gone for those annoying stickers and their residue. works perfectly. also high-strength isopropyl alcohol should do the trick.
Drifter 05.06.17	I dunno to me it feels better to have to wait for an album to arrive or have to save up to buy an album than to just download it and have it with no wait. It's like a reward. I mostly DL stuff that you either can't buy or is really rare

3waycrash 05.06.17	I still prefer collecting CDs as well, but yeah, those stickers are awful to take off. It's 2017 and they're still a pain to take off. Hate when they don't come clean off and just leave residue on the top.

JigglyPDiddy 05.07.17	There's nothing like a physical music release. (Sentence sounded way too fucking sexual.) ANYWHO, I still collect CDs. Not as much interest in them as vinyl, tho. Love getting new vinyl. Tapes are a novelty for me.
Sowing 05.07.17	I'm the same way. I'm impatient so I still download a lot, but I always purchase the best releases that I know I want to have in my collection (usually anything I rate a 4 or higher).

tempest-- 05.07.17	olive oil or eucalyptus oil yea can fuck the case up if you use too much tho. happened to me once but luckily it was only on god hates us all so idgaf i only get cds of things that i rly want or to complete discograhpies these days.

Demon of the Fall 05.07.17	You know what's even more annoying? When the spokes that hold the CD are broken inside, not sure if it's a bad packaging job or if some are made badly, probably a combination of the two. I still buy physical copies, almost exclusively.
teamster 05.07.17	Do you know what pisses me off more than those stickers? Of course you don't so I will tell you: FLAC files not being recognized by iTunes when dragging and dropping. BUT, if I burn an album in FLAC on to a cd, iTunes will say 'fuck you' and import the cd. What a fucking pain in the ass, that extra step.
Astral Abortis 05.07.17	The stickers on the top are good for labels to organise large amounts of CDs, they're basically a necessary evil. As for sticker residue (which those top stickers shouldn't leave anyway), just use nail polish remover, or alternatively just replace the jewel case. As for slipcases, I only like plastic ones. Cardboard slipcases damage way too easily
tempest-- 05.07.17	teamster thats because iTunes doesn't supprt FLAC, it has its own format called ALAC
teamster 05.07.17	@tempest...but why will itunes support the FLAC file if its on a cd? Been like this for years. All I have to do is rename the artist/song/etc info in itunes after importing.
