Favorite Vinyl

I have around 900 albums on vinyl. Here is a list of my top 20. The original list had 42 but wouldn't post so I'm trying again with just 20. I have multiple albums of some artist but limited myself to one entry from any one. The number placement isn't, necessarily, representative of a rank, it's just where they landed.
20The Clash
London Calling

London Calling needs no justification to be on any list.
19Black Sabbath
Black Sabbath

Classic. Epic. The birth of metal.
18Tears for Fears
Songs from the Big Chair

This album owned the mid to late 80s. you couldn't watch a movie or TV show without hearing a song from it.
17Frank Zappa
Sheik Yerbouti

A classic Zappa album but I mostly just love the name and the album cover. Zappa's a genius.
16Violent Femmes
Violent Femmes

You don't really need a greatest hits album to get someone familiar with Violent Femmes, just this album. They're all on here.
15Joy Division
Unknown Pleasures

This is another one I didn't get on vinyl until more recently but I wore my cassette and, later, my CD copies of this out.
14Small Faces
First Step

Great album that I found accidentally at a record store @ 15 years ago. I had heard "Stay With Me" tons on the radio but never really thought about who it was (other than Rod Stewart). It had a hidden gem; "Wicked Messenger" that is a bad ass jam.
13Songs: Ohia
The Lioness

This album can rip your heart out. Jason Molina wasn't just making up songs, he was cutting open his chest and showing you the insides.
12Killing Joke
Night Time

KJ is such an often overlooked band in the "darkwave" genre but I've always rocked 'em.
11The Jesus and Mary Chain
Honey's Dead

I didn't get this one until a couple years ago but I had to because my cassette (from high school) wouldn't play anymore...
10Green Jelly
Triple Live Mother Goose at Budokan

OK, so it is Green Jell-o, not Jelly but copyright infringement is a bitch. "I am the god of the Deli, and I bring you SATAN'S HAM!!!!!"
9The Jimi Hendrix Experience
Axis: Bold as Love
8Daft Punk
Homework

I got this album in '97 at a rummage sale at the local public radio station. It didn't fit their style so they were selling it. I took it home and proceeded to wear grooves in it playing it over and over.
7Dire Straits
Dire Straits

"Six Blade Knife". 'Nuff said.
6The Cure
Faith

I have 6 early Cure albums (on vinyl) so this one was a tough choice, but not really; They're all fantastic, but Faith is so dark and Robert Smith hasn't gotten all squeally yet.
5The Cult
Love

Love is the best Cult album. Much more depth than their other efforts. "Brother Wolf; Sister Moon", "Rain", "Black Angel". Great album.
4Leonard Cohen
Songs of Leonard Cohen

Classic early album by the master poet; before his voice got super deep. It has, what could be, my favorite song of all-time. (Def. top 5) "Teachers"
3Ozzy Osbourne
Tribute

The quintessential Ozzy album.
2The Police
Ghost in the Machine

A great album that I can listen to all the way through without going"Meh", and changing it.
1U2
War

It was a choice between War and Joshua Tree but War was more influential in my early musical taste.
