08.01.17 | if star wars wasn't such a cultural touch stone I probably would never watch any of their upcoming releases |
Sinternet
08.01.17 | i think it's something you have to grow up with to really understand and appreciate - kinda hard to get into when youre older i guess |
Sinternet
08.01.17 | yeah the hype has been massive, ive got a good feeling about it though
love the little horror renaissance we've had for the last few years |

08.01.17 | The new Bladerunner is looking like some flames. |
Papa Universe
08.01.17 | Lucky Logan - if you like to surprise yourself some semi-indie movies that critics adore and call 'the most hilarious film of the year', although you can be sure it's either a complete mindfuck or a conversational bore
The Dark Tower - if you like overpriced book-to-film adaptations that are destined to fail
The Emoji Movie - if you don't want to go on living, but want to die a slow and painful death
The Hitman's Bodyguard - if you like dumb action comedies
Kingsman 2 - if you like smart action comedies
Jigsaw - if you like a 1000th instalment in a godforgotten franchise that promises to reinvent the series, but is most likely not going barely lift it up from the direct-to-bluray pit it has fallen into lately
Thor Ragnarok - if you like overly colourful action ayahuascas
Geostorm - if you like to be the only person in the world who actually watches this
The Snowman - if you enjoy Nordic Crime Thrillers and you want them to finally have a decent western film adaptation
The Mountain Between Us - if you have a crush on Idris Elba, because c'mon, who doesn't
Blade Runner 2049 - no questions, this you need to see
Murder on the Orient Express - if you want to see an over-casted overpriced overexaggerated retelling of a tale everyone's heard a million times
Mother! - if you want another Darren Aronofsky arthouse mindfuck
Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle - if you have no shame |

08.01.17 | The Killing of A Sacred Deer. Its got Colin Farrell and Nicole Kidman in it and its made by the guy who made The Lobster. |

08.01.17 | My hipster nerves are tingling. |

08.01.17 | the snowman legitimately looks like a parody film. i was laughing throughout the entire trailer |
Toondude10
08.01.17 | Dunkirk is my personal favorite movie of the year. See it IMAX if you get the chance. |
Papa Universe
08.01.17 | Nice reworking of Massive Attack in the Snowman trailer though.
And the book it is based on is quite a thrillride, so I suggest you check it out. |
hal1ax
08.01.17 | oh? hm maybe i will. i will prob still go and see it tbh. there have been occasions in the past where trailers did certain films a disservice. idk, just seemed like an unremitting festival of cliche one-liners combined with the fact that leaving behind little snowmen is like the least sinister thing i could think of aside from maybe leaving behind swaths of cotton candy to mark your murder scenes or something |
GhostOfSarcasticBtrd
08.01.17 | If you liked Sicario and/or Hell or High Water, the same writer (Sheridan) has his directorial debut coming out called Wind River. Should be really good. |
Sinternet
08.02.17 | nice recs guys thanks (especially unique for his regular upstaging of everuyone else by listing off at least a dozen things)
had a look at some of the trailers/synopsis for these and killing of a scared deer and the snowman both stand out as something i'd enjoy
completely forgot about new blade runner and dark tower (though the latter will probs suck) |
Papa Universe
08.02.17 | cheers |
Sinternet
08.02.17 | still haven't seen dunkirk or baby driver but not a huge nolan fan tbh (will try to go in with an open mind) |
Toondude10
08.02.17 | yeah I'm not expecting anything good out of Dark Tower, well maybe except an enjoyable Matthew McConaughey performance
new Blade Runner looks dope af, I'm expecting that to be great, especially since it's being directed by Denis Villeneuve who made my favorite film of last year. |
hal1ax
08.02.17 | i heard both "Loveless" and "Raw" were good. both '17 films. not sure if they'll be your thang though |
Papa Universe
08.02.17 | Loveless is easily one of my top 5 films this year |
Toondude10
08.02.17 | Dunkirk is a very different Nolan film. While he's still very visual and the scope of it is huge, don't expect a 3-hour exposition-filled story that has the character question life or something like that. It's actually his second shortest film to date. |
BullettoBinary2
08.02.17 | Shape of Water and Glass Castle look good. |
BlazinBlitzer
08.02.17 | Can't spell "shit" without "It" imo. The Shape of Water looked pretty cool, although I can't remember if it's coming out this year or not. Also, Blade Runner. |

08.02.17 | @tresm if you didnt like Kingsman, fine, but youre fuckin retarded if you think its "cliche." |

08.02.17 | Shape of Water comes this december, yep. I'm pretty sure it'll at least be good. |
