LOVEANDACCEPTANCE 03.27.19	I've been pondering this a lot lately when I was in high school, the culture wasn't as widespread. shit that twitter dudes back in 2014 found funny and chose to make memes out of felt really natural, and joke formats seemed to only have been used when people genuinely had a new and original spin on it. people called others out when someone said some objectively lame shit, copied/stole other peoples content, etc. was really an honor based system when I look back at it (around 2013/14) nowadays, memes are so widespread, I mean, shits household at this point. it seems like people are consuming media SOLELY to meme shit. people reach, stretching FAR as shit to try and make a joke out of absolutely anything they see that has a funny face, all the while not giving a shit about if the joke they're making has been done before. the honor based system I mentioned prior has COMPLETELY been thrown out the window, with these meme compilation accounts scraping at every surface they can to just put out a large quantity at a time. shit feels surface, forced, and just unenjoyable at this point. I guess you could call it the ramifications of memes going "mainstream", and I get it I just fucking hate it
