04.14.19 | The list is the Prodigy ranked (minus No Tourists - I haven't got around to that one yet). I wanted to put this list together the week Keith Flint died, but didn't get around to it. | auberginedreams
04.14.19 | I’m drawn to people/artists with the same mental health issues as me but I’m conscious of it, it and I’m attracted to them as artists because they express what I’m feeling. You just have to realize they are flawed and not idolize people. They aren’t necessarily people to take life advice from, but it’s comforting to know that people can be successful despite their struggles. | someguest
04.14.19 | Good point. I saw their lifestyles as breaking through to the other side and making it. There was probably a bit of idolization in there. | SlothcoreSam
04.14.19 | So you outlived your idols.
That means you were superior all along, or that you have developed techniques to help you cope with your challenges.
It is normal the people you look up to have things in common with you, that's why you put them on a pedestal to begin with, you want to see them overcome adversity, and when it looks like they are, i.e getting famous, you rejoice in celebrating that. Now on the flip side, if you don't personally know your idols, you can never help them. But you can help yourself, and I'm sure that is what you and your social support group have done.
So congrats mate, |
