My Favorite Movies (fun read trust :)

Don’t expect Scarface, Pulp Fiction, or Reservoir Dogs lmao.
1Cattle Decapitation
The Anthropocene Extinction

Saving Private Ryan: As a military analyst/enthusiast I can’t help but pick apart the so-called “realism” in the movie. But I do so without seriousness. Saving Private Ryan is potentially the most intense movie ever. The D-day segment is brutally violent but what really captivates me every time is the final showdown in the ruined Normandy town. Whenever it's on cable tv I put max volume, my neighbors must think I'm crazy.
2Behemoth
I Loved You at Your Darkest

Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon: Yeah, I’m a bit of a nerd for transformers. I saw every installment at the cinema with my best friend so it’s special to me. Aside from that there’s so many loveable Autobots & Decepticons, and I don’t care what anyone says, no film has better CGI than these movies. The third is obviously my favorite
3Sombres Forets
La Mort du Soleil

Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith: Speaking of thirds, just when I thought episodes V & VI couldn’t be beaten, George Lucas gives us this roller coaster of a movie. Its the best Star Wars movie because of how dissimilar it is from any film in the franchise, So dark, and gloomy whereas the other two clone wars films are impossible to take remotely seriously. My dad is a 70’s kid who saw the original films at the theater and even he agrees this one is the best. Whenever people ask me what the saddest movie I’ve ever seen is, “Who’s Eating Gilbert Grape” pops into my head but I say this movie. C’mon most of our favorite Jedi died, take it easy George.
4Miserere Luminis
Miserere Luminis

Apocalypto: I tend to like any historically based films, but this one sets itself apart because its also a pursuit movie, and a thriller. There is so many awesome parts and at no point does the film drag. Pure uncompromised suspense. Some of you may know this one for the famous eclipse scene, but I’d highly suggest you watch the whole movie, it has a banger ending too. Mel Gibson hit the nail on the head here.
5Suicide Silence
The Cleansing

Centurion: Similar to Apocalypto in the sense it’s a historical pursuit movie, Centurion follows the remaining members of the ninth legion that disappeared in the Scottish Highlands circa 120 AD. Its an equally intriguing thriller as “Apocalypto”. So, if you enjoy the aforementioned, check this gem out.
6Blind Witness
Nightmare on Providence Street

A Cure for Wellness: Why did everyone hate on this movie!? Seriously this movie was so good that it leaves me genuinely wanting to know why the f@%k it got such poor reception. It’s quite possibly the best story development/plot I have ever seen apart from “hereditary”. You have to be patient with this one but it all comes together and leaves you with your hands on your head. It’s a psychological horror so if you enjoy “Hereditary” you might appreciate this diamond in the rough.
7Ingested
Surpassing the Boundaries of Human Suffering

Hereditary: Holy F@%@#$ shit. Before seeing this masterpiece, I couldn’t give any less of a shit about horror movies. Hell, the original Exorcist film made me laugh more than anything. But “Hereditary” is different. It doesn’t rely on lame jump scares, misleading trailers, and unlike most horror movies, it has a deep plot. It’s a long movie, and I can understand people getting bored at times, but I personally loved paying attention to the important little details. The movie accumulates to quite possibly the most shocking and disturbing ending ever. Yeah, better than “Sicario”.
8Hollow Prophet & Scumfuck
Scumprophet

War of the Worlds: I was only five years old when this movie came out, didn’t end up seeing it until I was about seven or eight. Backtracking a bit, as a kid my first big fear was ghosts, I used to sleep with my whole body under the blankets in fear of catching myself looking toward the foot of my bed. I used to sweat my ass off, getting cancelation only when my parents come upstairs after binging “Nip/Tuck”. Anyhow my next big fear was zombies, but nothing would prepare me for “War of the Worlds”. This movie haunted the shit out of me for years. Having grown up, I can appreciate this movie for the classic it is. Tom Cruise put on the best acting performance I have ever seen.
9Kreator
Pleasure to Kill

Prometheus: I’m a science fiction nerd for Star Wars, Transformers, Terminator etc.… but there’s no franchise I love more than the “Alien” franchise. The 2012 reboot prequel is the standout for me. It answered so many questions but left me with even more, only to have them answered again later. I’m not even going to begin to explain this movie, but if you’re an alien fan do yourself a favor and watch this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ONSFeRy9iQ It explains everything and absolutely blows my mind. Turns out the story intertwines with Jesus Christ, enough said.
10Voivod
The Outer Limits

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King: I’m not as big of a Lord of the Rings fan as I used to be, but this movie is still a favorite of mine. As a kid I found myself rooting for the bad guys at the battle of Minas Tirith and then complaining to my dad about “that’s not fair!” once Aragorn showed up with the army of the dead lmao. It’s the greatest battle in movie history, even better than “Saving Private Ryan” by a slim but confident margin. Orcs/Uruk Hai marching to war drums is so badass.
11Converge
You Fail Me

The Purge: Anarchy: First one was pretty good, third one was ok, latest one was trash, way too over-political. But let’s be real, when the first-ever purge movie came out, we were intrigued by the original and interesting premise. But more than anything we wanted to see what was going on in the streets as opposed to just the Sandin families house. “The Purge: Anarchy” was our first look, and a good in-depth look it was into the reality of the purge. Frank Grillo’s performance and character were the highlight of the movie.
12Drudkh
They Often See Dreams About The Spring

You’re Next: A corny home invasion flick that could easily be dissected by picky viewers, “You’re Next” is way better than any other movie of the type. Brutally violent, plot twist, badass characters, non-stupid main character (that’s right, a horror movie character with more than 20 IQ). My only complaint is that they shouldn’t have pussified the villains by revealing their faces (my same sentiments for Kylo Ren). I do dig the whole movie though, especially the Dwight Twilley scene.
13Woods of Ypres
Woods V: Grey Skies and Electric Light

John Wick: Even though I mildly enjoyed the next two, the first John Wick was so refreshing compared to all the dime’a dozen special agent (or whatever the fuck) movies. I don’t need to explain the movie because yall already saw it and know how amazing it is. The nightclub scene is especially iconic, and I cannot think of anyone better suited for the role than Keanu Reeves. But ultimately, although I liked the other two, I think the movie would’ve been better on its own. Similar to “Breaking Bad”, a quit while you're ahead of sorts. I think the other two might’ve slightly affected the film's reputation but what does it matter, yall disagree lol.
14Job for a Cowboy
Sun Eater

Terminator Salvation: Another movie I love for its dissimilarity to others in its franchise, Terminator Salvation takes on a post-apocalyptic setting contrary to its precursors, or successors? Hmmm. Anyhow very well-made, great characters, awesome new terminators etc… I cannot believe that the creators didn’t continue with the post-apocalyptic component of the Terminator universe. Especially considering that the movie ended on what could easily be interpreted as a cliff-hanger. I was so disappointed in their decision that I didn’t even bother watching Genesis and won’t watch the new one. This movie is incredible, and it represents a blown opportunity to reignite the franchise.
15Pig Destroyer
Prowler in the Yard

The Road: I’m a sucker for any post-apocalyptic movie. But of the countless ones I have seen, I’m obliged to think that “The Road” is by far the most realistic. No zombies, vampires (Looking at you Stake Land), aliens, robots etc… Just humans, some good, most bad. Also extreme scarcity of food, and a nuclear winter. As always, Vigo Mortensen hits it out of the ballpark here. Fantastic movie that’s at times beautiful, scary, and depressing.
