11.25.19 | I forgot to mention, but Manchester Orchestra's single... I Know How to Speak, blends perfectly with A Black Mile to the Surface, although it's technically not part of the album. |

11.25.19 | This was actually pretty challenging. While putting together the list, I realized that 2013 was a great year for music and several of my absolute favorite albums were released in 2017. |

11.26.19 | For sure... both of Black Peaks' albums are of a high caliber and each have their own merits. Although the production on Statues is far better, I feel that All That Divides is a more cohesive album. Will Gardner's vocals improved tremendously and although the production quality is lacking in comparison, you can tell that the band took time to expand and improve upon some of the ideas which were presented in their debut album while introducing engaging new ideas as well. |

11.26.19 | i dont think ive seen any of these on any sputnik lists before so you succeeded, good job |

11.26.19 | ^^^ I didn't avoid sputnik due to a singular comment...that would be a little extreme. The remark ultimately served as a hook to draw a few readers into the conversation, writing 101. However, the comment was real and my decision to carry out the experiment (avoid sputnik) stemmed from the comment. Overall, the experiment forced me to be proactive in finding music that I enjoyed because I couldn't rely on a single resource for information. I also attended far more concerts, and listened to more music from many of the opening acts. This was something I didn't anticipate. Overall, I would say that my exposure to various genres and styles increased because I basically listened to everything I encountered, rather than turning down the opportunity to listen to something because of an opinion made by others. It was an interesting experiment and I'm not entirely surprised that many of my albums ended up on other user lists as well, after all...good music is good music. However, I was surprised that several of the albums on my list aren't on other lists, so perhaps this list may provide an opportunity for greater exposure to music. |
