DarkSideOfLucca
01.15.20 | Obviously it was extremely painful not to include Terminator, Alien, Godfather, etc but goddamn third movies can be a bitch.
|
Viriathus
01.15.20 | No Evil Dead trilogy?
imo best Romero Dead movie is Day of the Dead, love the nihilism |
DarkSideOfLucca
01.15.20 | FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK |
DarkSideOfLucca
01.15.20 | THATS ONE OH MY GOD IM A MORON
|
SymbolicInTime
01.15.20 | The Evil Dead Trilogy [10000] |
Valkoor952
01.15.20 | Imagine including Scream, Cornetto and Apes but not including the Godfather. Yeah, the third movie is very underwhelming compared to the first two, but the first two are easily in the top of the greatest movies ever made. |
DarkSideOfLucca
01.15.20 | I hear you, but the third film was such a misstep and didn’t conclude the story in a satisfying way that I can’t include it. It’s like having the best 2/3 of a novel only to have the ending fall flat. If I was going by those rules, I’d include things like The Terminator, Alien, etc |
Source
01.15.20 | back to the future |
ItsTheSquirrel
01.15.20 | I'd also include the Dark Knight-trilogy |
DarkSideOfLucca
01.15.20 | Dark Knight would be high on my list but I have like 100 problems with Rises |
Chortles
01.16.20 | man, I love NWR but have never watched the Pusher films. need to get around to that!
also... you gotta get on the Vengeance trilogy dude. the best |
DarkSideOfLucca
01.16.20 | I’ve only seen Oldboy! Gotta check the others |
Wildcardbitchesss
01.16.20 | The Assembly Cut of Alien 3 is actually good tho
And Mission Impossible 4-6 if you count that.
Mad Max and Die Hard too for sure |
Viriathus
01.16.20 | Ive also only seen Oldboy but its in an incredibly fucking great movie. |
DarkSideOfLucca
01.16.20 | MI 4-6 are hard to include since the others also work into the story in a way where I can’t separate them like other movies. Assembly cut is ok, but I still have a fucking ridiculous amount of problems with it and it’s massively unsatisfying to me outside of a few scenes. Mad max for sure but I also want to include fury road lol |
botulist
01.16.20 | The dialogue in the before trilogy mostly speaks to how low American standards for film dialogue have plunged. Europe and Asia pumps out movies with better play-centric scripts by the bucket-load. The third one was best, regardless |
TheNotrap
01.16.20 | Lord of the Rings
Original Star Wars
Indiana Jones
Back to the Future
Alien / Aliens / Alien3
Terminator 1-3 (T3 never did much for me, but the first two are classics)
The Dark Knight |
tectactoe
01.16.20 | Where's that Three Colors Trilogy? Vengeance Trilogy? Toy Story? Bourne?! Godfather?!? Ingmar Bergman's whatever-you-wanna-call-it trilogy?!?!?!?
Props for including the Before Trilogy. Midnight is my fave. |
garas
01.16.20 | Lord of the Rings is the only one which really matters. I grew up with Star Wars, but still. |
Wildcardbitchesss
01.16.20 | Yeah Toy Story should be on here |
DarkSideOfLucca
01.16.20 | @tectactoe - read 11 my dude aha, I address the three colors trilogy.
The Vengeance trilogy we talked about earlier in this thread, only saw Oldboy.
Toy Story would be up there, Godfather I would include if I loved the 3rd one, but even though the first two are my favorites I can't include the whole trilogy on this list |
Casavir
01.16.20 | I'd definitely put LOTR at 1 from these. |
DarkSideOfLucca
01.16.20 | Ok, so tonight I'm going to either start The Three Color trilogy of Vengeance trilogy - after reading what I could about those without any spoilers, I'm pretty confident that they're both going to make this list. They seem up my alley moreso than things like Planet of the Apes and Cornetto. |
Chortles
01.16.20 | niiice! if you like Oldboy you're in for a treat, though they all handle the theme quite differently. lady vengeance is my favorite of the three and an all-timer for me |
Faenrir
01.16.20 | Along with all the ones already talked about, Jurassic Park. And don't get me started on Jurassic world crap. |
ramon.
01.17.20 | before trilogy slaps ass, vengeance trilogy also slaps ass, lady vengeance indeed slaps the ass, its not gonna happen but if it does, the raid trilogy, of the ass, indeed doth slap, also shoutout to sergio leone's spaghetti westerns for bringing the slap to the silver ass |
Egarran
01.17.20 | Nice. This was all completely correct.
I love Linklater.
Err Indiana Jones? Kinda really dislike Temple but the others are great. |
Faraudo
01.18.20 | Temple is the worst of the three, but it's pretty fun too. |
GhostB1rd
01.19.20 | LOTR is cinematic perfection. Critically, commercially, effects, script, choreography, score... |
OpenUpandLetMeIn
01.19.20 | The Dollars trilogy... |
rockarollacola
01.20.20 | Man With No Name Trilogy is the closest thing to cinematic perfection as we will ever get.
Also, Day is easily the best Living Dead film. |
HoopyFrood
01.20.20 | what about the alien trilogy? fuuuuuck everything that came after |
HoopyFrood
01.20.20 | also the mad max trilogy is pretty fucking great. fury road is also great but since it's a reboot/spinoff I think you don't need to include it and the trilogy stands on its own |
OmairSh
06.05.20 | Agreed with 3. There's a different charm to those movies. Cool list! |
Gyromania
06.05.20 | Evil Dead 2 is one of my favourite movies |
Gyromania
06.05.20 | Also Fury Road is better than any other Mad Max imo. 2 comes closest. 1 is just.campy as hell now but still fun, 3 is pretty terrible overall |
bloodshy
06.05.20 | Look who's talking, look who's talking too, look who's talking now |
