Pluck the 5/5 song from the 3.0 album

If I start this list early enough it will be easier to maintain for future... This doesn't apply to every 3.0.
1Mazzy Star
So Tonight That I Might See

'Into Dust'

This song is transcendent, the first 40 mins of the album I'm just sat waiting for it, easily ditch the album and listen to this 10x in a row instead.
2Cowboy Junkies
The Caution Horses

'Witches'

Some days are made with just Margo Timmins' voice + a few guitar chords.
3Little Dragon
Nabuma Rubberband

'Cat Rider'

It's either this or 'Pretty Girls' depending on how I feel that day.
4Pretty Girls Make Graves
Good Health

'Bring It On Golden Pond'

I dunno, this still sounds ok tho!
5Every Time I Die
Ex Lives

'Underwater Bimbos From Outer Space'

Still the best album opener ETID made, Ex-Lives maintains the same incredible energy throughout but lacks in most other areas, I fell out of love with the band after this release for quite some time but this song is like a slap in the face every time.
6Dystopia
Human = Garbage

'Stress Builds Character'

Thanks to whoever mislabelled this as a Green Day song on Limewire in 2003.
7Still Corners
Strange Pleasures

'The Trip'

Never start your dream pop album with 6 minutes of hypnosis that transports your listener to another world they won't be willing to leave. Save that for track 3 or 9, or the closer.
8!!!
Louden Up Now

'Pardon My Freedom'

The lyrics are dumb and play out like an inner monologue + the song makes you move. Good goooood fun.
9Angel Olsen
Burn Your Fire for No Witness

'Windows'

I can't wait to dive back into this lady's discography.
10Hozier
Unreal Unearth

'Son of Nyx'

Hozier could sing the dictionary and I'd listen but this is an instrumental piece that starts with a rough recording of a forlorn piano merging into the reverbed vocals of lost souls fading in and out over strings. There's a genuine story why this song is included on Unreal Unearth, based on a voice note sent by Hozier's close friend after losing his father, and it has that feeling of being untouched by big label expectations.
11Abra
Rose

'Fruit'

I'm hoping ABRA has a 4.5+ album in her somewhere.
12Bear vs. Shark
Terrorhawk

'Catamaran'

Actually this album is better than a 3.0 but I can't pretend I'd play it more than once every couple years and this is definitely the big 5/5 song.
13Sneaker Pimps
Becoming X

'6 Underground'

This song embodies something intangible from the mid-90s UK alternative music scene. Album less so.
14Nine Inch Nails
The Downward Spiral

'A Warm Place'

While Reptile, Eraser, Hurt and Ruiner are good songs... only on occasion, on their own, outside of having to endure this whole album. Closer has been memed into irrelevancy. Most everything else is shit. Admittedly, I used to play this album on repeat when I was younger and imagine spinning around on Trent's dick for hours but the sexual imagery here just makes me feel uncomfortable now because The Downward Spiral is otherwise just violent and depressing. And what's left behind after all the bullshit? A Warm Place.
15Mew
Frengers

'Am I Wry? No.'

This song is the embodiment of the early 00s. All the hope and innocence. It sounds truly timeless though. I never get the urge to play the album very often unfortunately.
16James Blake
Assume Form

'Mile High'

Honestly, I don't know... but apparently this is my 3rd most listened song of all time including 24 plays in a single night on Valentine's Day 2019 lmao
17Bjork
Debut

'Venus As A Boy'

It's not just the best on this album but one of her best overall.
18Grimes
Halfaxa

'Heartbeats'

This song was on a single vinyl release only despite being one of her best of that era. Typical Grimes, but I do admire the way she never seems worried about where the next 5/5 song is coming from.
19Guillemots
Through the Windowpane

'Made Up Love Song #43'

If you're in a truly happy relationship right now, there's no way you can listen to this and dislike it.
20Wovenhand
Blush Music

'Story and Pictures'

Maybe the most intense pick here! This album could very well grow above a 3.0 but I did used to jam this a lot and it seems only this track stuck hard.
