Stuff I've noticed way more as time has went on. | 1 | | Avenged Sevenfold Life Is But a Dream...
I seem completely incapable of sticking to one specific genre for a whole album. I'm always trying to find new and unique things to fuse in to make it stand out more. And I refuse to make the same album twice and get comfortable/complacent. | 2 | | Whitechapel Kin
I'm more meticulous about production value than ever before. Certain producers just irk the hell out of me - see: Kevin Churko. And if it's too lo-fi there better be a damn good reason. I'm normally not interested in stuff sounding intentionally like crap. | 3 | | Periphery Periphery V: Djent is Not a Genre
I notice way more when it feels like an album isn't progressing much in terms of the band's discography than I used to. I always want to hear something unique and new that sticks out. If I wanted more of the same I'd stay with the previous album. | 4 | | My Chemical Romance The Black Parade
I'm more obsessed with concept albums now than I was before, in no small part because I'm working on one. | |

01.31.24 | Man, I haven't ever had the patience to sit down and really try to write out a whole song, let alone album before. Though to be fair the only instrument I know is piano, which doesn't necessarily jive with the genres in my music taste.
Fully agree with what you said tho on 2 - if an album has lo-fi production there better be a damn reason haha | anode
01.31.24 | worst part for me (whos very much in the early stages) is recording something and knowing it sounds nothing like how i want it to end up and having to move on because it would just be too painstaking to optimize everything as i go. perfectionist part of me is starting to learn to deal with it but it aint easy. the alternative is building stuff based off jam sessions but idk that doesnt seem as good as going off the internal orchestra | pizzamachine
02.01.24 | In one of my albums I became so obsessed with tweaking my songs that I set a date on it lol. The idea is always to produce a different album with different ideas, but I also know my sound so it’s not just random and out of place. | veninblazer
02.01.24 | @anode: i hate that too, I have an idea in mind and then it doesnt sound right when I demo it. |
