Deweekly: March 15th to March 21st
I can't believe I'm still doing these. Anyway, new week! I think I'm gonna start excluding obvious things from the list to give the space for lesser known acts. Be sure I'll be checking the new releases from Kacey Musgraves and Four Tet for example (actually I already heard part of them and they're both great), it's just that they won't appear on the list. Also, let's try color patterns again, yes? |
1 | | Pink Milk Night On Earth
Third album I believe from this dark and noisy shoegaze Swedish duo. If we're lucky, fellow staffer Jesper will review it, if we're not lucky, then he won't. |
2 | | Shock Withdrawal The Dismal Advance
Debut album from this death metal / grindcore trio. Out on Brutal Panda Records. |
3 | | The Moor Ombra
New album from this progressive rock band from Italy. |
4 | | Tierra Whack World Wide Whack
Never heard her stuff before but the little I sampled sounds interesting. |
5 | | Vltimas Epic
The line up of this band is pretty crazy: David Vincent (ex-Morbid Angel), Rune "Blasphemer" Eriksen (ex-Mayhem, Aura Noir) and Flo Monier (Cryptopsy). They also added Ype Terwisscha (ex- Dodecahedron) and Joao Duarte from Corpus Christii. I only heard the first song and it sounds well, kinda whacky, but considering the line-up I'd go deeper and see what's down there. |
6 | | Dionysiaque Diogonos
One of out of two I, Voidhanger Records releases this week. Mandatory check. |
7 | | Hadit Metaphysical Engines Approaching The Event Horizon
And this is the other one. |
8 | | Gouge Away Deep Sage
Tryhards trying hard according to someone. |
9 | | Stress Angel Punished by Nemesis
Blackened speed metal is going strong this year and Dying Victims Productions is playing a big part in it. |
10 | | Necrophobic In The Twilight Grey
garasbro hyped me this and it sounds great indeed. |
11 | | Night Verses Every Sound Has a Color...: Part II
Full album unlocked. |
12 | | Defect Designer Chitin
Your weekly dose of Transcending Obscurity. |
13 | | Call ov the Void On Grief And Dying
Mexican doom. |
14 | | Lustmord Much Unseen Is Also Here
Dark ambient legends back with another slab of sounds from an underworld coffee shop. |
15 | | Aborted Vault of Horrors
The cover scares me, the first track scares me. You do you. |
16 | | DragonForce Warp Speed Warriors
I was planning on passing on this but Odal's review made me think otherwise. |
17 | | Lutharo Chasing Euphoria
Mid-way between melodeath and symphonic metal with a lady on vocals. |
18 | | Brat Social Grace
Grindcore. Been following these guys for a while, they're fun. |
19 | | Malsten The Haunting of Silvåkra Mill - Rites of Passage
Doom, through Svart records. Sounds pretty good. |
20 | | O ZORN! Vermillion Haze
No, they don't have anything to do with John as far as I know. Pretty solid sludgy stoner rock. |
21 | | Sweat (USA-CA) Love Child
Punk with a banshee on vocals. |
22 | | Boeckner Boeckner!
Spacey synth rock, tx someone! |
23 | | Amirtha Kidambi / Elder Ones New Monuments
Don't know what to think of this yet. Weird jazzy stuff. |
24 | | Corpus Diavolis Elixiria Ekstasis
NSF.... oh sorry too late. Black Metal through Les Acteurs de l'Ombre Productions. |
25 | | Aardvark (AUS) Tough Love
Tough love indeed. |
