08.21.06 | Disturbed is good, (it is preference, but i think they are pretty good) other than that, i agree |

08.21.06 | KoRn, Disturbed, and Primus are good bands. Replace "Eyeless" with "Duality" and you have the only SlipKnoT song I like. |
Thor
08.21.06 | Primus isn't bad, and Slipknot is hit and miss. |

08.21.06 | i would put 'before i forge' from slipknot before 'duality' but either one is fine |

08.21.06 | Primus has always irked me because they're experimental for all the wrong reasons. They cite Frank Zappa as an infuence, and you can see similarities in how both artists use bizzare humor and unique instrumentation. Thing is, with Zappa (or even other experimental bands like Mr. Bungle) the music has flow, direction, and expresses concrete emotion no matter how chaotic the song structures may be. The stuff Les Claypool writes just feels haphazard without any of that emotion, existing only to be weird and quirky for the purpose of being weird and quirky. This makes Primus difficult to listen to (while I can't deny Claypool is a talented bassist). Even worse are the vocals, Claypool's lyrics are already satirical enough so singing them with a cartoon character voice is just redundant and annoying. My Name Is Mud is the one instance I've heard where their formula works to near perferction, the formula of songwriting I just described above. |

08.21.06 | Les Claypool's cartoony voice matches well with the funny lyrics in my opinion, but there has been wackier bands than Primus, like Ween for example. |

08.21.06 | Primus is the only band I really like there. I have "Ball Tongue" by Korn and it's not bad. |

08.21.06 | barosjn:
The vocals and lyrics do match but overall their music just feels gimmicky. I feel the same about another band Nuclear Rabbit. It's hard to compare their sound to Primus's (Primus is more surreal I guess you could say whereas NR is more spastic), but both bands have a similar traits: cartoony vocals and some good, unique instrumentals (especially the bass, NR's bassist has a 9-string bass I believe). But anyway, I've been meaning to check Ween out since I've heard a lot about them. What album would you suggest is their best? |

08.21.06 | Chocolate and Cheese is the best album from Ween in my opinion, but GodWeenSatan: The Oneness and The Mollusk do come close. |

08.21.06 | HGS have you ever heard clypool talk it sounds the same its not that he is singing really cartoony it just thats what his voice sounds like |

08.22.06 | I like number 1 and 5....And some TALITM from Korn. |

08.22.06 | Take a Look in the Mirror is a good KoRn album, but they've made some way better ones. I reccomend listening to their first three albums (self-titled, Life Is Peachy, Follow the Leader) and their most recent one, See You On the Other Side. Now that's some more worthy KoRn to check out. |

08.22.06 | I've heard the entire s/t, and almost all of their singles following that. I stretched the truth a little bit with this list, I think they do have a few other good songs like A.D.I.D.A.S., Blind, Faget, Freak On A Leash, and Coming Undone...It's just that overall I'm really not too fond of them. |
HumanGroceryStore
08.22.06 | Oh and Shoots and Ladders is up there because while I get tired of the songs in my post above, that song is almost like a classic track to me. Everything about it just gets me every time I give it a listen...I can only imagine what it was like watching MTV back then when nothing else sounded like that and the reaction to bleak, droning atmopshere of the opening. Then Jonathan's voice creeps in with nursery rhymes. |

08.22.06 | Well HumanGroceryStore, at least you didn't hear anything from the albums of pure crap that are Issues and Untouchables. |
