Summer Digs/fall Anticipations
Albums I'm digging now, and albums I'm looking forward to later this fall. |
1 | | The Mars Volta Octahedron
What can I say, I love everything they've released so far and this is no different. |
2 | | RX Bandits Mandala
Just got this earlier this morning, and after 2 listens I'm really liking it. |
3 | | Maybeshewill Sing the Word Hope In Four Part Harmony
I don't know how I missed this earlier this year, but I got it last week and it's really cool. I was sold after the first song. |
4 | | The Dear Hunter Act III: Life and Death
My favorite of the three acts, while not perfect, is still a fun listen. |
5 | | Portugal. The Man Waiter: "You Vultures!"
Listening to "The Satanic Satanist" made me like this album more. |
6 | | Omar Rodriguez Lopez Cryptomnesia
Still kicks ass. Zach Hill is incredible. |
7 | | Christian Scott Rewind That
I've been listening to this before sleeping the last week or so, really great stuff. |
8 | | Mastodon Crack the Skye
My introduction to Mastodon. After checking out their back catalog, this is my favorite by a mile. Some great riffs on here. Very solid. |
9 | | Isis Wavering Radiant
My intro to Isis. Digging the bass tones, and similar to Mastodon, I like it more than their back catalog. |
10 | | The Fall of Troy Untitled
On to the Anticipation Station. If Phantom on the Horizon is any indication of what this will sound like, it should be balls to the wall awesome. |
11 | | Porcupine Tree The Incident
Lots of potential here. Could be amazing, could suck balls. We'll see. |
12 | | Omar Rodriguez Lopez Xenophanes
Omar singing? Que? I really liked his vocals on Calibration, so this could be awesome. Add Xinema, Thomas Pridgen, and Juan Alderete, and you have an album with loads of potential. |
