MetalMassacreAttack
10.17.09 | Finally |
Lunarfall
10.17.09 | switch 12 and 14 and you have my list |
LepreCon
10.17.09 | ^ lol
Should one of those not be 'Virtual XI'? |
Metalstyles
10.17.09 | you listed The X Factor twice. I'm pretty sure you meant Virtual XI once.
It seems you are as obsessed about iron Maiden as I am over In Flames haha |
MetalMassacreAttack
10.17.09 | I doubt it, Maiden is my reason to live :D
And yeah, thanks for pointing out my mistake lol |
Metalstyles
10.17.09 | you haven't been paying attention to my comments in the In Flames threads boy! In Flames is FTFW. |
MetalMassacreAttack
10.17.09 | FTFW? |
Metalstyles
10.17.09 | FOR THE FUCKING WIN |
MetalMassacreAttack
10.17.09 | Nice. I've listened to a couple IF songs, Jesters Race and Only For The Weak if I'm not mistaken, and I liked em, even though death isn't my cup of tea (though melodic DM sounds interesting) :D

10.17.09 | well you should definitely give them a go. Get Clayman - it's my least favourite by In Flames, but it's a good starting album. Harsh vocals over great guitarwork and it isn't particularly "death" either. Even a bit, how do i say this, poppy at times I guess. Only For The Weak is also off that album. Or get Colony - my favourite. Many will argue that The jester Race is their best but i say fuck 'em, Colony is supreme. |
MetalMassacreAttack
10.17.09 | Aight I'll get 'em as soon as I finish downloading Endgame and Bruce Dickinson's discography, buddy :D |
Metalstyles
10.18.09 | ughh, pause the Bruceman for a sec and get at least one of those album's i rec'd now! |
MetalMassacreAttack
10.18.09 | Aight, Bruce's finished, and so is Clayman. Getting Colony and Jesters now, though I should probably hear them tomorrow, as I'm sleepy and I don't quite think that's a good mood for death metal, even if it's melodic. I promise I'll give you feedback as soon as I hear them :D |
Jesuslaves
10.18.09 | Really hard to criticize a Maiden list, since there's about 7 albums of theirs that are top 3 caliber.
I will say that Piece of Mind is about as overrated as it gets. |
MetalMassacreAttack
10.18.09 | ^ Yup, maiden has a lot of albums that are very close to each other, which might be because they spent a good portion of their career sticking to a formula.
About PoM, on the other hand, I completely disagree: I'ts awesome. For me the really overrated one is 7th Son, and maybe The Number Of The Beast, whose influence is often confused with its actual quality. |
Taoboxer9
10.18.09 | Killers at 8 ? Should be #1.I remember when it first came out.It put IM & the NWOBHM on the map here in the states. A reviewer called them Thin Lizzy on speed! |
MetalMassacreAttack
10.18.09 | Killers is incredible, but I don't really think it's better than the top 6, nor do I include influence on the genre on my ratings (otherwise 666 would be higher, for instance). |
BringMeABrick
02.18.11 | Somewhere In Time would be a bit lower for me, although I love the whole futuristic, flangey tone of the album, too. My favorites off that album are probably Caught Somewhere In Time, Wasted Years, and Heaven Can Wait.
And yes, Hallowed Be thy Name is Maiden's best song.
And Piece of Mind was my first metal album, too. haha
666 not a 5? What? haha. |
MetalMassacreAttack
02.18.11 | Nice hehehe, PoM has powerful bass, interesting drums and lots of high pitched notes from bruce... it sounds very good overall. Number Of The Beast doesn't get a 5 from me for having 2 really mediocre tracks imo: Gagland and Total Eclipse.
This list is kinda outdated though. Nowadays, I belive Somewhere In Time is better than Powerslave and The Final Frontier would probably be the 5th best or something. |
